He was getting ragged on in the preseason, when he wasn't really playing badly. He gave up a few softies, but in general he was solid.

Great to see him step up! Maybe Noodles was correct, and this is a tandem in competition for the net.

It didnt take too long after he first got here for him to win my confidence. But coming back from double knee issues in a year without the intensity of the hunt, it was looking like he may have lost it. Like i once thought about Ovechkin. But hopefully he is back now. Although as a 31 yr old ufa this summer while Ullmark starts his big contract, its surely going to cause some tough decisions.

Forsberg held his own during that last Flames onslaught. Still could've been sharper but good on him for getting the win. I hope he gets the net against SJS

Worse save % than last year now. I don't think it's hyperbole to say it's a legit problem. You'd think this would be getting some discussion internally at this point about what to do.

Defended great 5v5. Problem was a 1:04 of PK time where they gave up 4 shots and free looks. On the flip side, Ottawa had 5:15 of time on the PP, managed just 4 shots.

I suggest people to watch carefully Travis Hamonic on the Isles first 2 goals.

As long as we're going to allow this to happen to us we won't be a serious team.

Ullmark has a sub .900 save % too.
11 games by Forsberg and only 3 were over .900, two were shutouts. Really Jekyll and Hyde performance

Idk what was with our pk today, and against a team that really isn't great on the PP. It looked like it was their first time on a PK. Idk if the saw something in the prescout of the nyi pp they were trying to protect against or what by they seemed completely disorganized.

The Islander's confusion on the PP also discombobulated the Sens.

Are there stats on losing when given up so few shots? It seems incredible how many games we lose when holding the other team to less than 15 or even 20 shots.

We need to finish more, but damn, at least hold off until OT. Another wasted effort.

Gave away 2 points to Vegas. Should have had at least 1 point vs NYR. Gave away a point to Flyers and should have had at least 1 point tonight.

That's minimum 4 wasted points so far this early into the season. Fing joke.

He hasn't been that bad this season. The reality is that there is a shortage of NHL goalies and with many of the rule changes resulting in higher scoring, an 889 save percentage is mostly fine for a backup. He is probably still a top 45 goalie in the league, which says more about goaltending than it does about him.
