Speculation: Another year of this Bluc **** (The 2024 season thread)

This but

This so much

great teammate, absolutely

but no one took him seriously on the other teams because he was just a punching bag

That's where jeannot is at, he's not a threat, he's not keeping anyone honest, he just loses every single f***ing fight and yaps the whole way down

He's a much better player on the 4th line though where he plays like a 4th liner not like a 4th liner pretending to be a 2nd liner.

Jeannot hasn't been as good in his scraps in a Kings sweater but he is still pretty decent, a far far cry from Buchberger, he would just get pummelled. I vaguely remember comentators taking the piss out of his name and fighting ability.

Took me 44 yrs of my hometown team being the laughingstock of the nhl to sour and as soon as championship mgmt and team is put together the best team that ever happened to the kings is stabbed in the back by a group of brain dead ex jocks that not only screwed the team in thier playing days they screwed the team, ownership and fans by creating mediocrity and ensured retirement as goals. Mediocrity as as a goal is loser goalsetting. Why cant we set a goal as championships? Why not us?
I'll always be a fan of the kings. But i'll be goddamned if i cant comment and think critically and evaluate them in all aspects.
This is beautiful

Ivanans looked cool but was kind of mediocre as a fighter. He was pretty defensive and wouldn’t go after the other guy. MacDermid was better. (Both were better than Parros.)

I do remember seeing Ivanans go absolutely psycho absolutely once

Dumb piece of shit Staubitz did something I hate, checked the shit out of a guy who was already engaged, and it looked bad/high in real time...Ivanans came in seeing absolute RED and Staubitz is so lucky Jody Shelley saved his life as he f***ed off to the bench to let Jody fight, you can see Ivanans just seething after the Shelley scrap, pointing at Staubitz then it cuts out. That's a terrifying man right there.

Wish that f***n linesman let Ivanans at Staubitz

Been a DAMN good season thus far, I’m enjoying it too.
Welcome back everyone!!! Some faces that haven't been around for a while.

Lack the positivity you do. King's have been playing well with the exception of a few bad stretches & things that should be fixable in practice.

Not looking forward to the playoffs. Expect Hiller to get overly creative & abandon the play that got the King's where they are before getting down in the series, panicking & changing the whole game plan. No faith left in the coach or front office.

Things aren’t going well let’s just ignore them and wait til they get better? Some of us make our own living and don’t live in fairy tail land. So that ketchup isn’t going back in the bottle.

Too quick? I think 8 years is enough to form a valid consensus on their performance. You can’t ignore the patterns between their management and playing careers.

The NHL is hard? Of course it is that’s why winning is worth a damn.

I’m not going to shit on the guys that came in around the cup years for wanting to win every year. In fact I like their expectation level. For the record I’ve been watching since I was 8 in 1988.

Watching Kopitar and Drew limp along is liking watching your grandparents fade away. Let them quit going to work every day they are old!

You guys call every new guy an MVP and you have been saying Byfield is going to break out every year he’s in camp. Those aren’t predictions they are hopes and hype. Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut.

Being a Kings fan isn’t a marriage. It’s a acid trip.
Since we can do pictures insert Morgan Freeman pointing up saying "He's right you know"

It's tough to see any team playing this style of hockey and beating the Oilers. The big guys are going to get theirs, which puts you in a position where you have to shut down everyone else to win a series of 3-2 and 2-1 games.

I believe the Kings have a better chance of shutting down Vegas and grinding out a series win, but with the Oilers, it feels like it will just be more of the same from previous years. That team was, and still is, the worst possible matchup for the Kings in the entire NHL, which really sucks when it comes to divisional playoffs.
Skinner and the Oilers are one of the worst teams in the league at stopping rush offense, particularly puck movement off the rush. The Kings are bottom five in the league at generating rush offense. It's why Kempe always looks good agains the Oilers, but no one else does. The Oilers are vulnerable this year. If Byfield and Fiala can keep it up and join Kempe at creating off the rush, we have a better chance. If we do the same thing otherwise, we'll get the same result.

I think at this point, we all know the Kings are capable of a great regular season. It’s really the playoffs that is the test for these guys.
I am working on my optimism.
-Foegele and Edmunson play a playoff style of game
- The Kings had a lead in two of the three series against Edmonton and the Koala refused to make any adjustments and was badly outcoached

Getting home-ice could be the difference maker we've needed for four years - that HAS to be the goal for the rest of the way.
