im starting to wonder about the increasing number of players that just dont fit into our system and how successful the system has been historically. im a fan of defense first systems as it wins championships- historically and in the present. but the buy in thats needed offensively in a defensive system is to go to the dirty areas and take the beating to score. the kings aren't doing that. shot charts bear this out. and the kings dont have a killer naturally talented scorer like a jeff carter or a guy la fleur. so i hope for the best but until we start paying the price and scoring in close we will be wasting a fine performance from kuemper.
the team also looks like they're playing for ties and the loser point-or at least are happy with that result. not exactly a champions competitive mind set.
change is good but the correct change is whats needed.

Thank you Chris, I’m gonna pass this on to Hiller.

The problem with Fiala is his history says he’s NOT the net asset you guys say he is, especially in the playoffs. He has to prove that wrong, and a lot of people are giving him the benefit of a doubt he has not earned and does not deserve.

I like him. I like his personality. I like that he loves La and is very active in the community and with the team. He doesn’t quit and the team clearly hasn’t given up for him. I want him to be successful here. But until I’m proven wrong you guys are defending a player that does not get exist. Hes a whole lot more Andreas athanasiou and a whole lot less Marian gaborik.
I think he is a net asset but as I’ve stated… when he is on, at his best. When he’s that player he is fairly responsible defensively and doesn’t try to force it. Perfect? No. But he is a player that teams need to prepare for. Has he done it for 82 games or been a difference maker in the playoffs-offs? No.

As you say he at least puts in the effort and doesn’t quit which means nobody can remotely compare him to the version of PLD we saw in a Kings shirt.

True but Moore is way better defensively overall.

Unfortunately Laffy just ain't doing jack shit right now, and I say it, even though I like him a lot.
Uhh wow dude what the f***? You're just gonna talk shit about a Kings player like that? No true Kings fan would ever say anything bad ever about any player, coach, or employee of the team ever, under any circumstances, no matter what. See ya, fake fan

In my opinion you are losing in playoffs with players like Moore.

He can be just ok during regular season.

Over the past three playoffs, here are points for guys still on the team:

Kempe: 19 points
Kopitar: 13 points
Danault: 11 points
Fiala: 8 points (2 series)
Byfield: 8 points (2.5 series)
Moore: 8 points
Laferriere: 2 points (1 series)
Lewis: 0 points (1 series)

Moore continues to be criminally underrated by some.
Maybe some but the majority of us like Moore. We just think in the playoffs last year he was unwilling to take the puck to the net for most of the series and this year hes a step behind his usual self and looks a bit disinterested out there.
That said a lot of the players mentioned here as trade targets would be lateral moves and not really upgrades over him.

He's still tied for 5th in plus-minus on the team. Same as Fiala.

Only Danault (plus-7) and Gavrikov (plus-5) rank higher among active Kings players.

Moore has been having a terrible year. It's to the point that he's looking like the easiest place to cut cap space for the deadline.

He did manage to skate through the neutral zone & into the offensive zone with the puck last game. Haven't seen him pull that off in quite some time.

Fiala: This team would be boring without him. You can't tell me you're not on the edge of your seat when he has the puck on the blue line on the PP.

I am biased because he is from TO and it's impossible to not love his enthusiasm. But I think it's safe to assume that Moore has been hurt most of the year.

Podcast detected, opinion rejected.

*for the record, this has nothing to do with Jesse, whom I think does good work covering the team. I just think podcasts are dog water.
I am one of your biggest fans , despite you not having an avatar, but this is an old man yelling at a cloud moment

Podcasts are the new media. There are podcasts that do a much better job or reporting now than the mainstream media. Yes, some are awesome some are downright awful. To quote a great philosopher:
