You're not getting Eichel for what they gave up for PLD. It would've cost Byfield, a top dman prospect and or Vilardi plus picks. Everyone seems to forget the massive risk it was to trade for him because of his neck. It did work out in the end, but it could've easily blown up in Vegas's face.
And you seem to forget that Eichel with a broken neck is superior to Dubois every day of the week. One of them gets you an extra $10M cap space and doesn’t actively harm you on the ice.

Lets compare legacy moves us fwd to a team like TB. They basically told Stamkos to hit the bricks - they realized he would hold them back from winning in the future. Rumors were he was offered 3m aav and he would settle for 4.5m but they didnt budge. He was like no thanks and signed with Nash for 60m over 4 yrs. To me that is TB wanting to move on from the past since that was quite the lowball offer. Thats the kind of thinking that would never occur to team legacy.

The Kings tag line for the season is legacy moves us forward. I’ve seen it on towels draped on the home arena seats. And it has its own url.

This is where the marketing dollars were spent. There is no connection to toughness, blocking shots, or sacrificing your comfort level to be better.

Management is down to their last excuse. Which was the very first excuse. That the cup vets are the #1 option available to once again be a winner.

8 years ago winning was defined as winning the cup again right away. Now, winning is defined as winning something very soon.

Wait guys what if they tried this for a couple games??

Turcotte - Kopitar - Laferriere
Fiala - Byfield - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Foegele
Lee - Thomas (Lewis) - Jeannot

Byfield can't play 1C until he figures it tf out - So play him at 2C but still set him up for success by giving him two very good wingers with lots of offensive potential. Turcotte and Laferriere have been the team's two best/most consistent forwards so you reward their strong play with an opportunity to play more minutes on the top line with a good/responsible C in Kopitar. That also gives Kopi two young wingers to look after which usually causes him to elevate his game a tad. Turcotte becomes the puck hound/playmaker, Kopitar brings the strong 200ft game & composure, and Laf brings some scoring touch.

Then on the 3rd line, those three guys are all slotted where they realistically should be. All 3 of those guys are perfect 3rd liners but ideally aren't playing higher in your lineup (mostly due to lack of scoring potential). Let those guys play a shutdown/energy role and if they score some points, hey that's great.

I don't love the idea of splitting up Foegele - Turcotte - Laferriere but the Kings need to find a way to get some of their other players going and ideally need to get Byfield back to center ASAP (even if he's making some mistakes). This gets Byfield back to C and promotes Turcotte into an elevated role (Kind of serves as a "hey sorry we're moving you off center kid you've been great but the rest of our team is struggling so we're just trying to find a way to mix things up").

I bet they messed up with the spelling. They meant to write, "Legace moves us forward." As in Manny Legace. He's the one in charge of driving the team bus.
“Legacy is never stagnant. It's a strong foundation, built upon with every new season.”

This is the deepest, darkest purple shade of koolaid that has been peddled by a franchise who is a founding member of the NHL HOF for propaganda.

hEy gUyZ. What if Jim Hiller was hit by a bus before tonight’s game, and someone let Kevin Fiala put together the lineup? That’d be bitchin’, right?

So that's how much of the last 3 seasons of Fialaless Kings would have looked.

We'd be going for top pick and you guys would be, lol.

Faber would solve everything, he's have won the game for us.

JK...

For sure we should have gone after Keagle.

Congrats to those who said it then,

Like it , modify slightly.

Turcotte - Kopi - Moore

Fi - QB- AK

Fog - PD - Laffy

TJ - Lewis - Akil

Gotta stop moving Byfield around.

He figure it out on wing was looking fire at C and now he is 2 steps back , even the successful moves took a while.

It's not worth having him take steps back.

Management may be on its last excuse or it may not be.

EK article aside, this is the time to move Gavrikov. Hopefully to a bubble team with better prospects & a lower first. He's holding down the RD #1 position. Waiting until later in the season will result in a late first & prospect from a team with a depleted pool. If he isn't re-signed, ship him & move on.

There is the downside of being in the WC race. It shouldn't be too hard to bring in a filter to temporarily plug the hole. King's should still be able to beat bad teams & lose to good teams.

Note: watching the Sharks game tomorrow. Hope the King's can still beat "bad" teams.

**Fiala thing is timed well. Remember when Blake got angry & shipped Pearson? Kinda feels like we're entering that situation again.

Not as ,much as after the Sharks loss.

Management and coaches are trying to not get fired.

They can't afford to not give Fiala time to come back after an automatic miss penalty.

Fiala had some Fiala moments last season and came back tightened it up and contributed.

Player salaries have only goes up, he ain't getting traded at this time.

This is why I didn’t buy into the idea that getting rid of the 1-3-1 was some great thing that was going to finally unlock the team’s potential and let them pop off. This roster simply isn’t good enough to play anything other than low-event trap anti-hockey and win games. The best players on the team are old heads that prefer to slow the game down to a crawl and the one guy with the skill set suited to a more open style is already in the doghouse and has predictably gone off the rails now that Doughty isn’t here to call him out in the postgame media.

It’s only a matter of time until they bring back the 1-3-1 in a bid to keep from falling out of the playoff race.

Wrong the players hated 131 .

We'll be playing it for the season.

Talking about firing management is a voodoo curse that causes them to never get fired.

So thanks

On behalf of them!
