I guess in some ways Byfield reminds me of Frolov... big set of tools - but not a lot of consistency making use of them - which makes everyone want more out of him. Obviously Byfield isnt even close to Frolov yet, but thats the kind of guy I think he is and will be... if you could transplant Lizottes motor, you'd have a top 5 player in the league. Its still guesswork, there is a chance he could find that consistency as he is still young... but the odds of it keep going down.

Frolov’s sweater game was unmatched, not unlike his wraparound game. Byfield has neither.

Me and my wife sponsor 6 children in countries with zero infrastructure or what you and I would call basic life resources and I personally donated over 40k in meals to kids from South American countries here on athlete visas training Jiu Jitsu in the inland empire and greater salt lake area. So don’t come at me with any homer than thou or high horse bullshit because I would bet another 40k you haven’t done the work!

But you have expressed viewpoints on topics that are red flags and, unfortunately, are either contributory or emblematic of viewpoints that hurt others (even if not expressed by you). And for some reason, despite attempts to contextualize these sociopolitical issues, there are flippant responses to dismiss the concern these topics.

You contribute more financially to those in need than I do or can. I'm thankful you do that. But generous people can be unaware of their biases or how their attitudes can be harmful to others.

Byfield averages 15 goals, 35 assists years 1-4 of his 5 year deal. Year 5, he finally peaks with 45 goals, 55 assist year. Then his 6.25 deal, in which he played 4.25 hockey….will garner a 11.5, 8 year deal.

(11.5 the going rate by 2029-30 or whatever yr this is)
