Guys, We're right there! King's are adding, not selling.

Why would we trade the only center under 30 on the team? Makes no sense.

So we're probably looking at:

Turcotte-Kopitar-Kempe
Foegle-Byfield-Laferriere
Moore-Danault-Fiala
Lee-Helenius-Jeannot

I like that 4th line.

Byfield,
He showed he can drive a lines possession & produce with Kopi & Kempe last year. This year he's been tasked with running his own line. His defensive responsibilities have increased. Byfield has been asked to carry Foegele & Laferriere. Becoming a top 6 center that can run a defensively sound line is more important than being a one dimensional offensive forward. We're still waiting to see what he Byfield becomes, but there's no reason to think he isn't capable of becoming a good center you can throw out against any line you're playing.

Contrast that with Stützle. He gets more offensively gifted line mates, sheltered with offensive zone starts, constantly diving. Stützle gets put out against other teams worse lines to run up the points against the bottom 6 while protecting him from turnovers that are worse than what Fila's been benched for.

There are always one dimensional, offensive wingers available at the trade deadline. Top6 centers you can play against any line of an opponent are much harder to find & are more valuable. There's no reason Byfield can't still become this.

My hope with QB is that he’s in the headspace of focusing on getting his head around his new job/role. He’s done that at every stage and once he’s settled (usually taking longer than you’d hope) he takes off. That isn’t to say that I’m not concerned to some degree, I am,,but given his track record it’s not that shocking. He wasn’t given time to adjust to playing C properly before he was moved to W. The production took a while at W as he focused on his positional/defensive responsibilities and then the production came. I hope he’s now doing that at C. Of course that them brings back into question various development decisions but I’m mostly interested in the now. My optimism comes from the strong defensive play 5/5 plus his pk work.

Byfield is clearly struggling with the puck. There is nothing wrong with the effort, the decision making, anything that would suggest a significant problem. He simply has no feel for the puck right now.

He is pushing the puck up ahead on the ice instead of stick handling. Passes and shots are getting thrown in the direction of where he wants them to go with no finesse or touch. The most likely scenario is a physical issue compounded by a severe lack on confidence. We know he has had issues with both wrists over the last 18 months, wouldn't surprise me at all if it is the same or a similar problem.

And anyone complaining about Saturday's performance wasn't paying any attention. He had multiple outstanding defensive plays, very easily could (should) have had a primary assist 20 seconds into the game and was involved in several chances later. You worry when there are no chances and other aspects of his game fade. And they aren't fading, they are getting stronger.

This is all being massively blown out of proportion due to stat watching. The team has had a very, very good start, and Byfield is finally playing center AND doing an excellent job on the PK. Let's calm this shit down for a bit and see what happens.
How many nights/days this year has he registered 1 shot or less on goal all season. ? Let’s set the over under at 12/25 games… who wants to play?

Is there anything more Kings than overplaying Lewis to game 999 and then him getting LTIRed
The whole lewis thing is so cringy.. like when Fox does a package at intermission on him doing the little things.. and shows a normal backcheck. Hiller puts him out on a 6 on 5 instead of Turcotte and promptly they get scored on. What is this weird worship of Lewis. I felt like we paid our dues having to watch him during the cup era... and now he's up here blocking a kid that could be developing. Sorry he got hurt, but its a blessing for the team.

I guess the 1,000 game Lewis statute outside Staples and presentation will have to be delayed a couple months.
It's going to be difficult for the Kings to get thru this brutal schedule in December without Lewis. Next man up. time for everyone to step up their games. In Hiller/Bluc we trust!

I hope that "Real Deal" Akil is healthy soon. This is his chance to shine like someone who was all lubed up at a Diddy party!

The only thing the Kings love more than being a black hole team, and trading 1st round picks, is terrible re-treads being brought back to suck. I wish I could say that's just a current front office thing... But it's not sadly.

Worst post of the year.

Moore for Kakko! Moore has better numbers historically. Just 2 more points this year. Kakko making 2.4 this year (rfa) vs 4.2 for Moore.

King's should get similar results this season & save on the cap for the trade deadline.
