I'm not a fan of this trade, but I'm open minded to it.

By the way it's pathetic that half of the content in this thread concerns the 3rd round pick. That is (by far) the least important piece of this trade.

What matters is Anderson and Domi. He who gets the best player wins the trade.

Not because of the pick or the player the Habs could have drafted.... But because Domi alone is worthing more than Anderson already.

90% of folks on this board wanted Anderson badly. Habs got him now. Hopefully he is 100% healthy again.

I am pretty sure 3 years ago we played an important game in March against Columbus with them holding onto the last playoffs spot, and us 9th or 10th. It was right down to the wire. They dominated us so bad it wasn't even funny. I was at La Cage and everyone was mad. We barely even competed. They were so physical we couldn't do anything.

Who lead the charge? Josh Anderson. He was hitting everything in sight. A train.

This is a playoff warrior.

Domi under Tortorella? Good luck

So what? His last season isn't defining his whole career.

People here need to chill lol...the world isn't ending. Clearly Domi didn't want to play wing so he had to be traded...we filled a need at the end of the day and that is fantastic news.
Yes a less talented Armia is fantastic

I don't care if Anderson turns out great. Their value shouldn't even be close right now... AND we're adding? Like Anderson as a player but there's no way his value is higher than Domi's righy now

Their value is pretty close. Power forwards are more expensive than soft players who can't dominate their position at 25 years old...

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
It begins the french media will once again praise Bergevin since Montreal canadiens controls all media.

the dude had 1 goal in 26 games last season. Injury of not , during those 26 games he was god awful.

Now im even more scared of what hes gonna ask. Bergevin literally bought out Alzner for this trade?

Absolutely stupid.

We traded a top 6C for a winger who scored a goal, or was it 2 last year in almost 30 games. AND we added a 3rd. Hmmm. Deja vu , Chelios for Savard, and WE add a 2nd ? Or. We had Damphousee, Turgeon and Koivu. Then Houle destroyed our centre depth.

Terrible trade. Terrible. A top 6C given away, and MB actually added.

This guy had all the advantages coming into this off season and has squandered it away to this point.

Its incredible, what we saw from domi this year is the real domi, the 72 pt season was a total mirage, check the shooting percentage too for crissakes

How can everybody forget his performance in the playoffs...it was a total and absolute disaster, it was honest to god embarassing watching him give such a terrible effort, there were some plays i swear to god i thought he was taking a dive, it looked like he was doing bad plays on purpose, he was 100% done here, and other teams saw that too, its great we got anything at all for him

I can totally understand the uproar for chucking a 3rd in there tho, which in the long run will probably really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things, but we always have to keep in mind this is basically a "draft prospects" messaging board first anyway, so people really get connected to those draft picks

For all the GOOd domi did bring which was basically just playmaking, basically a glorified 15-35 guy, he was inexplicably terrible on the powerplay, bad at face offs, gave 0 effort on the wing, and worst of all, 5"9 among far too many other 5"9s already on the team, he was badly outmuscled all playoffs long, you wont win with this guy, ever.
Keeping him would of simply clogged up one of the two key center spots we NEED to give KK and Suzuki, and im thrilled bergevin sees it that way too, got rid of a growing fungus of a problem into a , again if it pans out, a potential power forward, i like the gamble

At least taking a chance on Anderson could, if it works, pay off huge for us

I want to create a new account so I can like this twice

I'm not saying I love the trade, but weren't people drooling over Anderson last year? Wasn't he THE type of player we needed? Yes, I know he was hurt and he had a rough season, but isn't this the type of player everybody wanted for the playoffs? He's only one year older than Domi as well.
Before he scored 1 goal..had shoulder issues and played 24 games? Ya.
I dont mind this trade, if we were gonna use Domi on the 4th line...might as well.
Thats said, its another depth move that won't move the needle for us unless more is coming. It might hurt us if he keeps getting hurt too.

Could be ugly, but I have a feeling Domi is gonna do very well at center behind Dubois.

I like the player but don't like the trade man... Domi got to have more value than a guy with injury concern no matter what kind of positive impact he can have if healthy... I hope this trade works out in the future tho...
