Great signing at this point. Thought we were going to have to wait. That being said, I'm expecting a rather big trade this June, maybe was the selling the point.

Great news. Hopefully with some of this younger talent coming up through the pipeline, some will exceed expectations like Carlo and help purge the forward corps of at least a few wasted roster spots..Whose Names Will Not Be Said...

does this signing change our Draft priority?

It shouldn't, but in reality if we had two players similarly ranked and one was a center or defense prospect I'd lean more than way.

Then again, if Sweeney thinks a winger available at our pick would be better than anything else we had organizationally then you go for it every day of the week.

Think Shane Bowers is my guess for 18. Going to BU in the fall and by all accounts has a very strong defensive mind with top six offensive potential. Also has a strong cycle game.

Just screams a Sweeney pick.

Terrific news.
It seems college kids are getting smarter, I think the trend will be to test UFA more and more.
Why not, unless you want the immediate payday or love the team that drafted them?

Dean isn't going anywhere.

right now, he won't, but longer-term is the question, but overall how do Providence fans feel about competing for titles, or is it for development only, the amount of talent there, will PRO challenge a Syracuse had this happened a year ago, knowing what just happened 10 days to 2 weeks ago?

Glad to hear this. I was wondering if it was going to be a crap show like some recent NCAA prospects. Thank God it wasn't.

Bruins need center depth badly so adding a winger changes nothing IMO.

I agree. Boston has no forst-line center prospect. Although there won't be one available when the Bruins pick, the team should draft the best one at that spot. I still think that Boston seriously looks at an offer sheet for Eichel.

Anyway great news re Bjork.
