Me when I see people from here in the prospects board

Currently quarantining in my son's room. He and I have either the norovirus or food poisoning.

Thankfully yesterday was the worst of it. But amongst all the possibilities of how I'd watch the NFL Draft, this was not one of them.

Norovirus is a bitch. Got mine at my birthday dinner in late Jan. I was a faucet for four days.

Yeah, if that's what this is, it's considerably milder than the 2013 strain. That ran through our entire house like wildfire, and we were tossing our cookies on the hour all day long.

Running Lions mock drafts while my son plays games on his tablet. Could be much worse.

I'll be watching the Lions picks with great interest.

Kinda wild they ended up with a top 10 pick from the Rams this year. Stafford obviously brought them a Super Bowl, so it's worth it, but damn that's good value for the Lions. Especially considering that team is back on the rise, assuming Goff's season wasn't a fluke and a sign of things to come.

For all the Aaron Rodgers hoopla, people didn't really notice that Goff outplayed him last year. But I noticed. Because it sucked to watch for me.

What in the rusty 5-hole is going on here? I’m intrigued.

I got a wild hair a few weeks ago and started watching wrestling again after probably 3 or 4 years of not tuning in at all. What I saw on WWE has been hot garbage compared to the good old days and can't watch it anymore, but AEW has a few guys like Orange Cassidy, Swerve Strickland and MJF that are pretty entertaining. It's not as crazy as attitude era wrestling but it's filling a gap.

I like the overreacting a lot better when it was Shawn Michaels being exceedingly petty in a dream match against Hulk Hogan.

Shit like that is why I absolutely hated Shawn Michaels.

I think that match was when Hogan was close to retirement for the first time in WWE. Michaels was supposed to wrestle at least two matches with Hogan with Hogan winning the first and Michaels winning the second. But instead Hogan said he could only wrestle the one match and Michaels was asked to job for Hogan. Michaels was miffed he couldn't get his win over Hogan so he oversold everything to mock Hogan.

I mean, both of them are to blame on this one.

It was meant to be a best of three. Hogan or HBK win the first, the other wins the second, Hogan wins the rubber match.

I mean, I actually understand it from HBK’s side. If they agreed to three and then Hogan politicked down to the one? I’d be pissed also.

It’s also one where they’re both major bellends when it comes to backstage. If nothing else, we got the masterful heel promo in Montreal where he played that crowd like a fiddle with the fake out Bret Hart music and then the fake out Hogan music.

Honestly, the overselling was so ridiculous that it made the match memorable. You already had Rock/Hogan which was the quintessential legend match. How else is a match between the two worst people backstage going to end other than they both piss and moan until they get their way?

I remember what a big deal it was and in the days when kayfabe wasn't completely broken it was such a big moment. Michaels had returned just a few years earlier and was back on top of the company. Hogan was still being pushed as the all-american invincible hero. Neither wanted to turn heel and they forced Michaels to do it.

It's really interesting to listen to podcasts about all the crap that happened in WCW/WWE from those days and what egomaniacs those guys were. But...part of me misses how crazy wrestling was from that 1996 to 2006 era.

Walter is the only genuine talent in the current WWF. I feel bad for the guy. He would be an all-time legend if he came into the game during the territory era.

I stick to the archive on Peacock or classic matches and promos on YouTube. Latter has a channel, Rox TV, with a ton of Big Time Wrestling discussions.

Last year a bio of The Sheik by Brian Solomon was published. One of the best wrestling books.

GUNTHER!!!

He’s really talented but, you know, the very fascist looking entrance. And the whole giving him the name Gunther Stark…

WWE is the epitome of an organization that’s successful despite all the times their management sets it up for failure.

I saw this today and am not at all surprised to hear about some of the gimmick ideas from the writers room.

Ugh. f*** this week. So close to being done with audit… and it’s just “hey handle this hey handle that. Oh this thing is late because your person who used to do it resigned and the message died in their inboxb

Cinco de Mayo got me wondering. I haven't had real Mexican cuisine in a while. Around me I've got some decent options like Alchile and On the Border. Might have to see how long the wait is for any orders.
