Did my one and only NCAA bracket today. It's my "Mascot fight bracket". If the mascots or the representations thereof fought... Who wins? They move on.

My final four ends up being

West Virgina (Mountaineers - Mountain Men - aka Backwoods survival men)
Duke Blue Devils - Literal devils. just blue.
Northern Kentucky Norse - Literal god damn Vikings
Howard Bison - Mother f***in Bison. All 8 feet, 2000 pounds of themselves.

Couple assumptions I made, mascots w/ guns > mascots with swords unless said mascots are just like the Hoosiers of Indiana, which I assume to be just rando Indiana citizens. So if you have reason to be trained with the weaponry, Swords or other bladed weapons lose to guns. Only way West Virginia makes it past Alabama if we're being honest.

Also... Devils lose to either religious/pious men (Gaels, as being from the Gaelic countries of Ireland and Scotland or the Friars or to animals as the animals simply don't comprehend what they are.

Natural Disasters win 100% of time against animals as if a hurricane hits an animals home, that home is destroyed and if the animal is there, it's pretty much dead. While they can destroy homes, people survive hurricanes and cyclones.

Lastly, more militaristic humans take it against less so. So Spartans, Trojans, Norse, or like mountain men, cowboys, beat like Cajuns or Hoosiers.
I think you just took Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock to a whole new level.

Any interest in Daisy Jones and The Six? Amazon series music journey about an up and coming band from the 60s/70s, got a few episodes in and it's pretty solid if that's your thing.

I guess it was inevitable (stupid audiophile/headphone interest) but I started collecting records.

Lots of cool stuff out there and I'm enjoying a lot of music again but man do I have to pump the breaks or my bank account will reallly start to hate me.

Doesn't help the wife is right there beside me buying records. She's supposed to keep me in check.

Andor was amazing. I'm about to watch it a second time through. As a Star Wars fan who most other Star Wars fans can't relate to, Rogue One and Andor were the corner of the Star Wars universe I had been wanting to see since childhood. I'm the guy who watched Star Wars as a kid, saw the opening scenes where the Empire captures Tantive IV, and wanted to know the story of the Rebels on the ship who were gunned (lasered?) down by stormtroopers while trying to protect the Death Star plans. Who were they? Why were they in a struggle where they were so overmatched? How did they get there? Where was their dedication coming from? What was their story, man?

You can have your magical assholes, give me the non-Force users who fight against great odds without a cheat code.

Nostalgia removed, Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars film, and Andor topped it.

Best Disney movie was R1 imo.

Not exactly how I imagined it, but better than what I had!

Ublock origin still works great for me on desktop. But man does mobile suck on this site.

For the record, I have previously complained to the powers that be and they either can't control it or don't see a problem.

I get these guys need to keep the servers up and all that, but there's many examples of websites that integrate ads in less obtrusive and more respectful ways to the user.

Until they clean it up, I wholly endorse everyone use an ad blocker of some kind. Like Eric here, I have had good luck with uBlock Origin on desktop. On mobile, I've had a positive experience with Brave browser.

What are you all using for a music service. I just have whatever streaming that comes with Amazon Prime and found out recently it only allows for streaming to 1 device at a time. My kid is listening to a lot more music and we keep kicking each other off the app :naughty: . And I can't in good conscious relegate him to ad supported pandora. So it looks like my options are Apple music, Spotify, and Amazon Unlimited music or whatever it is called. What do you guys like? Probably leaning towards apple for the integration with siri and my air pods.

I use Tidal. At that time I switched, it allowed for higher quality streaming of music (lossless) than the competition, although I don't know if that's still true for said competition. I use it daily and I've been very happy with it.

I think most of them have lossless now. Not that I can really take advantage listening on air pods and air pods pro! Looks like they are all similarly priced too. Did find Tidal HiFI family on Best Buy for like $10/mo.

My buddy and I have really been getting into Project Zomboid. If anyone plays and wants to join our server when we play, let me know, it's a lot more fun with more people. :)

Oh yeah? Last I heard about some Kia and Hyundai models was about that USB cable hack.

You mean that car thieves have figured out how to steal Kias and Hyundais using a USB device? Yeah, that was a not so well kept secret. Seattle has a ring of car thieves that specifically target these cars.

Criminals are stealing hundreds of thousands of Kias and Hyundais — and TikTok is to blame

But what I meant is that anytime I see a car blown to smithereens, on fire or broken down and blocking traffic anywhere in this country it seems to be a Kia more often than not. (with Hyundai and Chrysler products a close 2nd and 3rd.)
