Amazingly enough… two hearted? Can’t do it. Tried several times. For the life of me can’t see why people love it so much.

Everyone’s tastes are different I guess. Because I love me a good Gosé. People who love two hearted, god bless ya, I just cant
I used to live and die by IPAs but my tastes have changed to German style lagers. I will say, Two Hearted seemed to be the IPA most people enjoyed who don't usually like them.

Although it ain't my jam anymore I still consider Two Hearted to be the nearly perfect beer.

Oh sorry I'll make sure at the meet up we get you your appletinis light on the tini.
If they're good enough for Doctor John Michael Dorian, they're good enough for one and all.

This coming Saturday, I'm shooting for 100k steps. I will be very happy to reach 50k. I think I've hit 35k as the most for this year so far... so this will be taxing. I will see how it all goes and if the attempt seems like it is for real, I will have pictures to document it.
Damn...good luck on that!

Yep. I mean, it is SE Michigan, so you’re not gonna find much flatter land in the US if you’re not in Iowa.
True. I'm thinking of trying that in upstate SC with all the hills and even the thought makes my legs hurt.

Yep. I’ve done it in northern Michigan with some of the hills and valleys and 10,000 steps on 15% or more incline will f*** me up sideways for a couple days. But I’ve done 30-35k in canton/Ann arbor without any incline change and it’s easy peasy

So somewhere between 45-50 miles? Walking some trails or wandering the streets?

In Washtenaw County, they have this super well maintained trail called the Border 2 Border trail. It's basically a chain of trails that snakes around the County. My idea is park at one end of the trail (In Ann Arbor or in Ypsilanti, walk until I get to a pre-determined distance. So, not exactly wandering the streets. I would do 20-30k wandering streets, but f*** walking alongside Ford Rd. in Canton if I can help it, because there are so many strip mall entrances and roads to stop at.

Also, I'll get to walk through EMU (my alma mater), the cool paths between Yspi and A2, and then right by my work. It actually will work out super well because I do know this area. I can even sell it as "I'm walking on this County property to "inspect it", lol.

I'm betting on you though. North of 70K.

Maybe others noticed, but Bauer reissued the original Synergy. I loved this stick. It felt like all of my friends had it before me (they probably didn't), and I was so stoked when I finally upgraded from my Typhoon (although I gotta say, the blue finish on those typhoons was incredible).

Which leads me to the question - what was your favorite stick? What stick do you use now? And any other stick related thoughts?

(im a goalie btw)
My favorite stick I've ever used is probably the Bauer 2s, great "all around" stick. Currently using a Warrior V1 proSE, the thing is built like a tank. I had a True stick, but it starting disintegrating whenever a puck hit it.

Sticks are kind of all the same to me, I don't really care what I use, as long as it keeps the puck out of the net.

Some of my stick history….

Wooden Koho - I can remember the blue and white graphics. My first adult sized stick in the 90s. I was like, ‘yeah, I’m not a kid anymore!’ (I was still very much a kid, just a tall one.)

Synergy - the game-changer. Probably the highest-performing stick I’ve ever used, and certainly loved it. Had a couple game-used sticks from the Michigan hockey team back in the day, one broke within 5 games, the other lasted a couple seasons. Bought a couple more beyond that.

Warrior KGB - probably my “favorite” stick. Mid-level performance in a vacuum, but I had an amazing couple seasons with this stick. It did everything I asked and I probably had the best grouping of sick goals I’ve ever had. Wasn’t the lightest stick at the time, but when you grow up using telephone poles, it’s plenty light enough. I remember younger guys calling it “heavy.” It was like 470 or 475 grams lol.

All-Black - it’s what I’ve been using for several years now. Again, not quite the highest performing stick ever, but I ain’t a youngin’ anymore, and the bang for the buck I get with this stick is perfect.

Quick update. Started at 5:46a. First break came at around 10:20-10:45 at around 30,600 total steps. Just about to head to the final path I’m walking on, it’s the massive border to border. Give updates and pictures after I’m done

Ok. I tapped out at 70,000. The last 10,000 of that was agony. I’ll still share pictures and whatnot once I return home and rest some

Ok. I ended up at 71,555. That’s 27.10 miles.

I started at 5:46 when it was 33 degrees outside. I did a loop around Canton that got done at 10:20a. 30,670 steps. Then changed clothes as it warmed up and replaced socks to curtail blisters. Drove to the head of the Washtenaw County Border to Border trail.

Walked through Eastern Michigan’s campus (as my dad-joking sister said, I took a trip down memory lane). Then past EMU’s football stadium. At this point I was around 50k steps and my muscles were starting to tighten up. I pushed through and got to the Gallup park trail in A2 and this is where i started taking short rests to alleviate the sore legs. Got through this and by the Michigan medical campus. Ended at a park at 60,000 steps and took a longer, fifteen minute rest. Then it was pure agony heading back on the same trail I used. I made it to the next open road after that and called an Uber to get back to my car.

Very sore but actually feeling alright this morning after being almost immobile yesterday evening.

That's downright incredible. Congrats!

But your picture looks nothing like Sebastian Cossa. I therefore declare you an imposter and banish you for three days.

I’m almost a foot shorter than Cossa too.

And I’m definitely an impostor. In being Sebastian Cossa and life.
