wait now he's safe? The umps screwed up the signals? Calling out at 2nd and they thought he meant out at 1st?

The only thing that could have been wrong with that slide was he may have started it too late, as he was still in the air when he hit the fielder but it's too harsh to call that in the 9th inning of a world series game 7

he still didnt come out of the basepath imo, he was going to be going straight in until contact was made, turning him sideways. Looked worse than it was

Motion to call this a draw and award both teams with a World Series.

I'm gonna feel so bad for the team that loses this one

I think the review was to see if Lindor touched the bag and the ump confirmed the out

Countermotion to call the series a draw and award neither team a world series just because sports is built on the Cubs suffering and Cleveland mostly suffering in general.

The league clearly made the call there. They did not want that rule impacting the game.

yeah the commentators were out to lunch with that. But the slide rule states you can't start your slide too late, by doing so you would be mid air during the slide instead of on the ground when you hit the fielder.

But he was fine in that part of the rule as well. As well as the other parts of it being, sliding straight into the base, don't go past the base, and don't move body parts at the fielder to interfere.

Is there some kind of rule to keep the pitcher from just continuously throwing the ball to the basemen trying to get an out? My feed is a bit behind, if you couldn't tell

No double play. They were reviewing that the out was made at second.

It was the Indians that challenged according to gameday. Thus they would have challenging the slide rule and not the neighboorhood play.
