I want Dubas fired because he's a bad GM, but he's obviously a good person. I don't have the loathing for him that I do Marner.

Trade Marner straight up for Eichel.

Ps. So much for the servers being fixed.
Actually though.. At least Eichel doesnt rely on other players to produce. Imagine being useless and making basically 11 mill a year hahahahaha

Everybody talks about changing the off-ice part of the orgainzation... that will make zero difference imo.

I felt the team that was put together was good enough to win a round or two last season despite its faults, and I think this team has the potential to be better. More speed, players more aligned to the roles they have been put it. They players, and not just the top 4, continuiously shit the bed in all situations from non pressure weekday season games to critical playoff games. As a group they are not mentally capable of doing what it takes an until that changes, either they figure it out or a move is made, I expect nothing.

That being said, this is on the core and no one else. Jason Spezza must be thinking wtf. Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Rielly have been shit since the season started and two of them were an embarassement in the 2nd half of last seasons playoff series. No team will ever have success when their best 4 players have their heads this far up their asses. Right now, it is clear the fans care more about this team than the players do... and if that is not the case, and this is how the players bring it... two coahces have gotten pretty much the same result. These ego-centric asses think they know it all. Lets but a pin in it now.

You're wrong. The culture is the problem.
Dubs is that soft stepdad that tries to buy your love. These kids need a strict father.

Wake up call too soon? Not sure how can the organization or medias talk about the playoff. What a pathetic result in the early season.

one dubas will never trade marner

but I would love to see marner spend career in Buffalo

and Eichel in toronto, gets matthews extended?

I’m done with toronto boys coming home, it’s only caused us problems. Davidson, tavares, marner…

I’m just gonna stick to watching McDavid for the rest of the season

Strong win against Carolina and this game will be forgotten.

They can’t even handle a hard working AHL team and you expect them to beat a hard working NHL team?
That Carolina game is going to be a nightmare and I’m usually an optimist.

Their only chance is Freddie Andersen who will probably play like a Vezina candidate.

There’s no way Dubas can survive a loss at Carolina and two losses against either chic, det or Vegas ?

I dont think they've hit bottom.

I expect things to get worse before they get better.

It beats me when that happens, but however it happens they will have to decide who they are and learn to play like a team.

I think they are a lot worse than last year. I think last year's team was a lot worse than the one Kyle inherited. A shitty division really helped the Leafs last year. We're seeing that now. Cannot beat a US team for the life of us.

I don't think I am wrong, and I don't think you are wrong. My point is I don't see the organization changing the management team mid-season. If the team misses the playoffs it is a foregone decision (I would hope). If the team loses in the 1st round I think they all need to go too; do they? Or do they give this management team a chance to change the core and see that through?

This is on the players for this season... clearly the managmenet got the okay from the board to approach this as the last kick at the can with this core. Do they stick with that if the season goes like it has so far (very unimpressive)? The big boys need to step up, if they can, which they have not shown the ability to. I have to imagine the management have a target of where they want to be (in quality of play and standing) and will hopefully seek changes to the rosted if the one they put together is not hitting those targets.

It's never just one thing... but you can usually only change one thing.
