Unfortunately our league is set for this season. But for future reference, yes, you can join if you're not in the same time zone. I would recommend joining a random league this year and giving it a shot as a practice run to get used to fantasy hockey. It is fun, especially if you like following the entire NHL.

I believe I have been part of H2H only, I assume that is the most common.

Generally, I think around 10 teams is ok, but it depends. On Yahoo, you should have an option to just join some existing league, I think I was doing that some years ago. Should be good for you, you don;t have to necessarily create your own league, I believe.

Great draft everyone! Next step is picking up players off of waivers. I turned on a setting that allows you to add an injured player directly to an injury slot. So that means, if there is somebody who is currently injured that you want to stash on your injured list, you can add that player straight to your IL slots. However, with waivers, there is no guarantee you will wind up with that player because a person with a higher waiver priority might also want to add them (you can see your waiver order placing on the League page in the Standings, it's just the reverse draft order).

You can put in waiver claims for multiple players, and you can order the priority of your claims.

Only if that player is currently on your roster (I already did it with Marchand).

A couple more things:

If you have a player designated as "Out" (O) or "Day to Day" (DTD), you can move them to an IL+ slot, which also opens up a spot on your active roster.

Also, we each have 1 NA slot which serves as a holder for AHL players who we think can make an impact in the NHL later in the season. Unfortunately, since we are still in the middle of training camp, many of the top prospects have not been sent down yet, so they don't have the NA designation. Remember to utilize this slot at some point. You never know when a prospect will explode on the scene.
