Proposal: Anaheim Ducks Fantasy Hockey league

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. How does the bench position function? Is it essentially just a reserve to cycle in? Also is there a waiver wire or something similar?

Yes, the bench functions as overflow. There are waivers, but generally players are only placed on waivers once they have been dropped by other owners. All other players are available to be picked up immediately.

Is there anyway we could do the draft the 1st? It’s not a deal breaker if not but I often get scheduled on Sundays for my second job. How long will the draft take?

What is the Util player position?
How does IR work?
What is the NA position?
Do stats get counted for multiple goalies each week or just one goalie?

Draft order is random, and will be determined about an hour before the draft. (I can also do a random drawing to determine the order, then input it manually if we would rather find out the order ahead of time)

UTIL is a spot that you can put any skater position in. So if you have a day where you just happen to have 3 LW playing, you can still fit them all in your lineup instead of having to bench one. I like adding one UTIL just for some extra flexibility.

There are 2 IR designations:
IR - The player has to be actually put on real life IR to be eligible for that slot. It doesn’t count against your total roster slots, so you can stash away a player for awhile until they come back. But when they return, you will have to drop someone else to make room for them.
IR+ - Unfortunately, many teams will avoid putting players on IR, especially if it’s a relatively short term injury. This leaves players as Day To Day (DTD) and unable to play, but this means you would not be able to put them on regular IR, so they burn up a roster spot while not being able to contribute anything. IR+ allows you to put a DTD player on it so you’re no longer at the mercy of the team placing the player on IR.

The NA position is for a player that is currently not in the NHL. If you think a player is going to get called up later in the season and make an impact (Jacob Perreault, for example), you can put him in that slot and stash him until he is called up. However, once he is called up, you have to put him on your roster or drop him.

Your starting lineup accumulates stats daily, and you can change your lineup each day. So if you have 2 goalies playing on a Monday night, and then 2 other goalies playing on a Tuesday night, you just swap them Tuesday morning/afternoon so you get credit for all 4 of them over the 2 days. And you can do this for every day.

I have set the draft time for 10AM Pacific time on Saturday, October 1. If anyone has any issues with the date/time, please post it in this thread. I can't make any promises when it comes to moving things around, but I can try.

EDIT: For those of you who haven't done this before, you are able to participate in mock (practice) drafts on Yahoo so you know what to expect in the real thing.

Honestly, having it during the week would be easier on me as I can do it at my desk at work probably easier than at home, but obviously most would have an easier time on the weekend.

My h2h yahoo league needs another manager. 10 teams $25 buy in. Payouts for 1 2 3. League was created in 2016, we are redrafting this yr due to a 4 team turnover but its a keeper league with 3 keepers. ​

Roster Positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, Util, Util, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR, IR, IR+, IR+, NA
Forwards/Defensemen Stat Categories: Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shorthanded Points (SHP), Game-Winning Goals (GWG), Shots on Goal (SOG), Faceoffs Won (FW), Hits (HIT), Blocks (BLK)
Goaltenders Stat Categories: Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)
 
I updated my team (Night's Watch Commanders) which is an ode to McTavish's resemblance to Jon Snow and now I have to draft him :laugh: But feel free to pick him before me if you like.

Don't forget to update your teams before Saturday ;)
