Confirmed Trade: [ANA/STL] Cam Fowler and 2027 4th round pick for 2027 2nd round pick and Jeremie Biakabutuka

Short term a good add on Long term who knows?
Nice to see Fowler is doing good .

I’m eating crow on this one. Looking like a steal for the Blues, Fowler has been absolutely fantastic and has stabilized their defense even while Parayko is out. 28 points in 43 games, and playing big minutes shutting down the opposition.

Major reason why the Blues have made it back into the playoff picture.

He is a very good player and was criminally underrated in Anaheim. Happy to see him thriving in St. Louis.

win-win-win

Fowler clearly was not playing like himself in Anaheim knowing he was likely being shipped out soon.
The Ducks got to elevate LaCombe even more and let him truly develop into what looks like a #1.
The Blues got a #2/3 (on a contender) for dirt cheap.

I'm very happy he is appreciated in St. Louis.

I have no doubt Fowler has been very good for the Blues. My guess is that most ducks fans aren't surprised and are happy for Cam. He's a good guy.

The reality is that the ducks were never going to see that version of Fowler again in Anaheim. He looked burned out and tired of losing and he was playing a role that he was not suited for - the ostensible top d-man without a great supporting cast. His flaws were magnified in that role.

Fowler never got treated fairly in Anaheim.

Eh? He was drafted by them after sliding, he was directly mentored by Niedermayer (even lived in his house for a while), was the de facto 1D for ages, and it was he, not any of the other Ducks' slew of young dmen (including Lindholm), who got the long term deal from the org including trade protection. What exactly was unfair?
