Tell me you have no idea what you're talking about without telling me you have no idea what you're talking about.

You have no idea what you're talking about
Odds are on my side but you’re entitled to hope it doesn’t happen. I hope it doesn’t happen.

A guy like Cam Fowler has lost a step at 32, and he’s a great skater. It’s a natural occurrence for a player. Cam’s not carrying the weight Parayko is, nor putting that pressure on his back at his size. But hey, maybe he’ll be a freak of nature like Chara was. History tells us that won’t be the case though. Especially with a top heavy skater.

I hope he doesn’t lose a step. I appreciate what he’s been able to accomplish at his size. The odds just aren’t on his side with another 5 years after his 32nd birthday. That’s just reality for dmen over 6’4” with these forwards getting quicker and quicker every year. The bigger they are, the less they can afford to lose a step.

That’s no secret amongst NHL managers. If he had 2-3 years left, that’s one thing. 5 after his 32nd birthday? Teams just don’t line up to take those contracts.

“In the hunt” lol. Love the homerism.

Reactions: Bring Back Bucky
From the little I've seen of Fowler on the Blues so far, he has looked like an absolute upgrade over what we've had this season so far. Now we no longer have to play guys like Joseph and Kessel.

Also he's a spring chicken compared to Suter, who plays the same position on the team.
You mean both teams benefitted and there's no need for fans of random other teams to come in with weirdly emotional responses? That can't be right

If Fowler can just eat minutes and get the puck out of the zone and provide some additional offense from the Back end it should be a win.

And if the Blues stay stuck in the 11-15th overall pick hell the entire season hopefully we can rejuvenate some of his trade value and recuperate some picks later this year or in the offseason.

I don’t think it helped that Dom and his friends (who solely rely on his piss poor model to tell who’s good or not) spent a whole day on Twitter trying to dunk on the Blues for making this move.

I think it’s pretty clear to everyone that he just needed a change of scenery with a coach that has a better defensive structure than Cronin.

Fowler 1g, 2a against Nashville. That's 5 points and a +6 in 7 games since the trade, while playing 22 mins a night and doing well on the PP1 unit.

It's still early but looks like Fowler's rejuvenated on the Blues. He's been very good.
System is bad and the vets all play better when they leave, at least for the year they are traded. Most fans of other teams don't believe Ducks fans when they say it's the system and the players will do better on other teams. That said, I don't think Fowler will keep up that point pace for the season, but getting over 40 is very realistic. He goes through spurts where he looks like a #1 (back when the Ducks were good), then usually gets hurt or something happens and he goes back to being a middle pair guy. I still think at this age he's a solid #3.

figured a change of scenery would do him well and bring out whatever he's got left in the tank. i'm glad to hear he's been solid for you guys

Well the important thing is, whether or not he does well, trading a second round pick 30 months from now was a "big risk" per Dom's genius hockey analysis brain. Followed some crazyhow by Dom humiliating himself publicly against the likes of Tony DeAngelo over the substance of the Fowler trade.

Dom will always remember "Fowler" as the moment he totally owned himself, that's awesome. They're going to rave about the addition during the Winter Classic when Fowler plays his 1,000th game too. Right in Wrigley Field for the dumb Hawk blogger, just pure chefs kiss

Great to hear. Happy for Blues fans and Fowler.
