Well I didn't see that one coming, at least not right now. Kudos to Verbeek for seeing an opportunity to grab a big talented young F and jumping on it. JD is uber talented and it's tough to see him go, but as others have said - I think we have his role filled internally for the foreseeable future.

Here's hoping that Gauthier signs at the conclusion of his college season and gets some NHL action in to finish the year.
I’d hope verbeek got a commitment for him that he will sign

Writing was on the wall with our defense. Someone was going to move… a bit surprising it was Jamie but it seems like Verbeek isn’t confident in his ability to stay healthy and we seem to have an abundance of puck moving Defensemen.

Gauthier is exactly what we need if all the scouting reports are legit. High risk high reward trade.

There is the potential that Drysdale becomes Jakob Chychrun 2.0 and is never really healthy long term. I hope Jamie does great in Philly and kills it there.

So we got the 5th and 10th picks in 2022.

I'm kind of shocked. I mean we need to help up front obviously, but that seems like a hefty price. I wonder if they bring up one of the prospects to fill in for Drysdale now

now that the shock is gone….

I don’t mind it, a dmen had to be moved…. And we got the ideal player for what we need. Cutter is a beast.

We’re also going to have a high pick this year, we have option to go dmen now if we arnt in a spot for forward
