Drysdale was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal defense. But he really isn't putting up big numbers that make me concerned about losing him for Gauthier.

Jamie might have more offensive upside than Fowler had in his first couple of years, or maybe not. Almost guarantee he won't be as durable.

Fowler played on a better team with Visnovsky, Beacheman (for a time) and Lydman than Drysdale has since he came in. I'm sure that helped Cam.

If Mintyukov was going back this would be a horrible trade. Sending Vaaks or LaCombe to Philly would have been beyond the realm of possibilty and would have been the end of Briere.

I have no problem having Luneau fill the spot and bring Zell in after the TDL.

And we really , really need someone who can score.

One big problem with that is that Luneau can't play right now. Pat said there is "much to overcome" with his infection before he can.

It’s hard to know exactly how injury prone he is without knowing what his actual injury was. Maybe his shoulder is actually thrashed.
I mean that's fair. But I don't think the considerations stop at being injury prone or not. The kid has missed a lot of early development time. If he ends up a second pair 30-35 point per year player while being just above a liability defensively and if Gauthier becomes a second line 55 point ish player I'd call that pretty much a wash.

My bigger concern are the people who think he has low hockey IQ and I saw a video where he basically said publicly that he was unhappy being drafted by the Flyers as a Pens fan. I get the kid is young and all but I have reservations about his character.

All I'm telling myself is, Madden and Verbeek must've been keeping an eye on the kid and saw something they liked. Madden's had a lot more hits than misses so I'm trying to have faith in this decision.

Drysdale probably wasn't going to get much better value than this and we got the benefit that Philly wanted to move him quick before it got out that Cutter wanted out but by the same token if Drysdale started to stabilize his health and started putting up numbers, maybe we could've gotten a guy with fewer question marks.

Hope Cutter pans out.

I’d agree, but us kicking in a 2nd makes that a loss.

My intuition doesn’t trust CG but oh well. If he doesn’t sign Verbeek should be fired immediately.

Is there any ‘hope’ of signing him?

we are going to be very very bad now the rest of the season. I think Verbeek wants a top 3 pick

I’ve said it before - this should be a tanking season. Lots of quality in this draft

If you're wondering why he left Philly, just read the comment section on Cutter's IG. Yeesh.

Somebody from the Ducks org needs to get him to go private ASAP.

That’s some entitled bullshit posted by the fans. Holy shit those posts are “cringe AF”, as the kids say. No cap.
