If the pick is a throwaway like 4th or worse, who cares I guess, but if there’s no retention shouldn’t we be getting the pick, not giving one up?
I have a hard time seeing this as improving the team…if trouba was good a playoff hopeful team wouldn’t be trading him away for scraps.I don't wanna hear any of the people who complained PV didn't do enough to try to improve the team bashing this one
You'd like to trust ranger fans' player evaluations?I think you're seriously underestimating how hard he's fallen. This could be another Allen situation.
We never should have been the ones forced to pay in this situation either. I'm marking this down as Verbeek's first genuine failure.
Allen was 3 years, and the Ducks were trying to win and didnt have much cap space.I think you're seriously underestimating how hard he's fallen. This could be another Allen situation.

I'm trusting every single Eastern conference teams' collective fan bases who are absolutely lambasting this deal and calling Verbeek one of the biggest idiots in the league. They've seen him, they all think Trouba is a terrible player these days. I don't care if he's on the 3rd pairing, if he's a detriment to the team defensively he's a net negative. You'd like to trust ranger fans' player evaluations?
Trouba isn't a number 1, if he is a number 3 here who plays physical in the crease and helps our PK that is a massive improvement. The money means nothing here. I love this move.
Yup, if Verbeek can turn around and quickly move Fowler it’s not bad.I will like this trade more if we are able to trade Fowler elsewhere for a positive return.
We are going to find out!I'm trusting every single Eastern conference teams' collective fan bases who are absolutely lambasting this deal and calling Verbeek one of the biggest idiots in the league. Out of all the fanbases in the league, we should be the ones who know what a genuinely bad D-man can do to a team defense. If he's as bad as everything we know about him suggests, we're the suckers here. Big time.
Gotta believe it's more about his wife about to start her career as a doctor and choosing a location based solely on that.I would never have expected him to accept a deal here.
