Worst Case, Ontario
I think Ottawa was willing to give up the most, they liked Brassard is from there, his contract was front loaded, and he fits right in with Turris also being on about his same level and age. They can have two scoring lines using those centers with likely more consistency than with Zibanejad.

The deal for the Rangers made sense, they got younger, potentially a player that will be as good, and they got a pick, even if I am not sold on Zibanejad, we'll see what he does in my opinion.

If they are using that sort of deal as their template, Rangers and Ducks are looking for the same stuff although I'd guess the Rangers are looking for it specifically on RD now, yet players like Vatanen, Tanev, Ceci, Trouba, etc are going to be near impossible to trade for, so they'll likely have to draft or find a player that has not come close to breaking out yet to try to acquire.

You're last paragraph basically describes Brandon Montour, I've been saying for awhile that he's probably the guy who fits the Rangers needs most.

I think its close to fair value, but I think Zuc is too important to the team to trade him.

Agreed.

Zuc is a complete player and a top line forward on a favorable contract. He's the Rangers best forward. You only move him if you're rebuilding and the haul would be significant.

In my world that is the type of player the Rangers should be looking into. Yet it's difficult to really set value on those risk/reward types.

I'd assume the Ducks would want one of the Rangers better risk/reward prospects who also has a couple years left on his entry level, who has high potential... the picking are somewhat slim.

Why would the best PP in the NHL need someone to make their PP better? I don't see zucc fitting in with ANA play style.

Ty, at this point I might not even trade him for silver straight up( silver might end up being one of the best 2 way forwards in the game soon)

most people forget hockey is a business first not a franchise on PS4 in their basement. Zucc is exactly the type of player ANA would covet. They are a budget team, superstars are older, Vats locked up, Despres locked up, and manson and lindholm is a great pairing they shouldn't break up. For the ducks in the supposed deal they get to keep theodore and their first. just like the sens deal. the 2nd wasn't the difference in player from Brassard to Zibby. it was for the cash paid in bonuses because NHL Teams are BUSINESSES.. my guess is value is close. maybe the rangers send lindberg back to play with Rakell on third line and gives them a shooter capable of at least 15 goals who is also cost controlled. and Zucarrello plays both RW and LW equally well.

I'm still normals on the original deal, but this is one of the better arguments I've seen on Hf boards (not that the bar was super high, but still nice work :handclap: )

Adding Lingberg makes this deal workable.

Rangers have to add a bit, but I like this as a basis for a deal. My gut tells me that any Rangers fans saying no to trading Zucc for a package like this would regret that decision in a few years. Adding Zucc would definitely be a win now move for Anaheim.
