I'll be at Universal Orlando the next two days with the family. What are the must-rides other than Velocicoaster and Hagrids? I'm pretty pumped after spending the last two days in Disney with what seemed like trillions of other people .
Those are the two absolute must do's. Depending how you are with 3D rides and motion sickness, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is a good one. The queue might be cooler than the ride. Other than that, I wouldn't say there are any other must do's.

Thanks dude! I did ride Gringotts a few years ago, which was awesome. Of course Hagrid was down that day though, and it was before Velocicoaster was open yet.

With you having been there since Gringotts opened I'm not thinking there is much new except Velocicoaster. Can't remember when Volcano Bay water park opened but that and Epic Universe kind of have taken the money for Orlando.

I hate coasters. I hate heights.
It’s honestly not the heights that bother me in coasters, it’s the cross bars that I know I won’t hit but think I will.
My favorite has been the Aerosmith coaster in Disney because I couldn’t see them.

I’m also a little touched because the first time in went on the Pharaoh, yes the swinging carnival Pharaoh, while properly secured I was sliding all over the place feeling like I was going to fall out.
Rolling Thunder was my favorite at GA. the bars didn't come close to locking you in, you always felt like you were going to fly out on a turn.

Ahhhhhh good old Rotting Lumber. Never was sure how it still was standing the last season it ran.

El Toro which kinda stands in it's place is a beast of another flavor. Even with the lap bar fully against your legs you feel like it will toss you on some hills.

So I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off on my thoughts for Six Flags Magic Mountain outside of Los Angeles.

The permits have been filed and it leads to a suspended coaster being themed to a off road motor bike.. which leads to the below video as an example of the possible ride experience. *Video of a ride in Ireland that matches the model*

Guess they aren't as far up the chain of getting the "GOOD" rides as they used to be.

I have sort of a weird thing with roller coasters. I never "truly" went on one until I was 18, after the Barnstormer kiddie coaster at Magic Kingdom traumatized me at three years old. Now I avoid them altogether, not because I'm scared of the rides themselves but for health reasons.

Comet
Trailblazer
Lightning Racer
Wild Mouse
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Space Mountain

That's a complete list of every coaster I ever rode. All at either Hershey or Disney. Not exactly a murderer's row, I know. I never touched anything that went upside down and I don't think I would now even if I could still ride them.

I had a young experience also that made me scared of them along with not liking the feeling of being able to fall (not really a fear of heights which is what I thought it was). Then high school physics teacher used physics and roller coasters to explain some things and the thought of falling from one got less. So slowly started to ride them again. A decade or so later I had the brain totally figure out on Nitro that my fear was really unfounded on correctly built and operated rides. Then the world changed and 275 different coasters ridden later here we are.

Just don't force me to ride drop rides if you don't want to hear every 4 letter word in the book.

When I was 15 my friends all had season passes to six flags and I had never been on a coaster before and was pretty nervous about it. First time I went with them we all ran across the park straight to Nitro as soon as the park opened. I rode 4 times in a row. Once in the front, twice in the middle, and once in the last row before a line started forming. What a hell of an introduction that was.

Now I'm trying to convince people to go skydiving with me in the spring. I take it you two would not be interested.

I went on the triple drop tower at Hersheypark- the smallest of the three, specifically, because it wasn't that big so I figured it couldn't be that bad. Hoo! Never had airtime like I did on that ride- nothing like it when you're dropping straight down. Never went on it again, though I imagine I probably couldn't anyway now even if I wanted to.

Hell no! I won't jump out of an airplane that will safely land. I won't bungee jump either. I have done a few fun things at Morey's Piers (and like models at some other amusement parks as an upcharge) that would make you question me not bungee jumping.

Depending on the programming those S&S Towers can be a real jolt. Compressed air to send them up if they do the launch and compressed air to bounce them to slow them down.
