Replacing it and Green Lantern with an Intamin Multilaunch... think Pantheon at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg or... GASP Velocicoaster at Universal Orlando

The odd thing is no mention of Zumanjaro? So does the new ride use the tower still.

Edit to add: callers to the park now are being told Zumanjaro is going also.

Also I hope the figure out the power to the park because I remember Batman and Robin playing havoc on the grid if they launched together.

Velocicoaster is a top tier coaster. One of the best I've ever rode

Just to give an idea of the area they are working with look at the area but where El Toro is. They can also go into the parking lot above Kingda Ka. Dear god they are doing something LARGE.

Disney getting rid of Muppet Vision 3D is unsurprising but tragic to hear. Especially considering there's only two other things at MGM that I do on a regular basis.

I think it was more of a we need to distance from Aerosmith thing when the contract ran out so they decided to slide the Muppets there and that along with the new Monsters Inc Coaster required the move on from MuppetVision 3D. It does suck but if they do the redo of Rock and Roller Coaster right it could be a huge hit.

Ok so I failed you all and didn't put this here for discussion.

Six Flags corporate made this announcement coinciding with the closure of Kingda Ka.

Let's hope they do these right.

For a quick highlight:
Among the capital investments currently planned for the 2026 operating season:
  • Carowinds will introduce a record-breaking water ride
  • Canada’s Wonderland will add a new record-breaking water attraction
  • Kings Island will introduce a new family thrill attraction (rumors point to one of these Family LSM Coaster - Intamin Amusement Rides going where Vortex was and the locals are not pleased)
  • Knott’s Soak City will receive a water park refresh and aesthetic enhancements
  • Six Flags Magic Mountain will debut a first-of-its-kind coaster in North America (rumors point to a versiion of the new Mack launch coaster at their test park Europa Park in Germany )
  • Six Flags Great America will celebrate its 50th anniversary, debuting a new kids’ area, commemorative events and park enhancements
  • Six Flags Great Adventure will unveil a record-breaking launch coaster (no manufacturer or good rumors yet that I have seen)
  • Six Flags Over Texas will unleash a record-breaking dive coaster (not sure if the smaller train version (Iron Menace) or the larger train (Griffon) but the rumor is 300' drop.)
  • Six Flags Mexico will introduce a family thrill boomerang coaster (think this is a copy of the Flash Coaster opening next year at Great Adventure )

Just a little fun note, Six Flags executives were spotted at Universal Orlando and on Velocicoaster.....Take that for what you will.

Carowinds is removing Nighthawk. THANK GOD that style ride is a nightmare.

The only on in the US still running of this design is Batwing at Six Flags America in Maryland and I bet it's not long for the world also.

That doesn’t look fun

So to add on to the talk of ride closures here's just one companies list of removals for this offseason....

Kingda Ka @ Great Adventure (NJ)

• Zumanjaro @ Great Adventure (NJ)

• Green Lantern @ Great Adventure (NJ)

• The Sky Way @ Great Adventure (NJ) (Closed in 2022, but removed this year)

• Twister @ Great Adventure (NJ)

• Parachute Tower @ Great Adventure (NJ)

• Scrambler @ Magic Mountain (Los Angeles)

• La Vibora @ Six Flags over Texas

• El Diablo @ Six Flags over Texas

• Snake River Falls @ Cedar Point

• Professor Dilbert’s Frontier Fling @ Cedar Point

• Nighthawk @ Carowinds

• Drop Tower @ Carowinds

• Scream Weaver @ Carowinds

• Anaconda @ Kings Dominion

Looks like a lot of either high maintenance rides or rides with land under them that the park has plans for (Cedar Point)

Great Adventure and Cedar Point are getting something large in 2026 with the land those changes are opening. Whereas Carowinds seems odd as the rides are all spread out.

Add to this Rip Ride Rocket at Universal Studios Orlando. Which the demolition permit has surfaced for and lists for new ride as the reasoning.

It's going to an interesting next year for additions being announced along with everything Six Flags mentioned when they did the mass announcement for capital expenditures for 2025/2026.

Veli is smart coaster. The first time you ride it you can't predict it. Plus they finally got the chairs right. Hulk coaster you feel strapped in a gurney.
Two different companies designed them. One goes for the feeling of being on the edge and the other overengineers their rides to make people feel safe. Love coasters by each but going in for a first ride I can almost predict my thoughts.

Intamin rides I normally get off the first time thinking ok I need about 4 more times to really figure out what they did. I better go back around and re-ride it now to see what I understand after that ride.

Bolliger and Mabillard I can walk up and know I'll know what every element did and get off saying hey that was fun what's next on my day. I'll be back later for a re-ride.

I’m not the biggest amusement park person. But 6 in one go seems a bit extreme. Especially since I used to go to six flags once a week a few years ago because that’s all my friends wanted to do at one point.

Sounds like theyre gonna impload Ka. I guess that makes the most sense...but still will be an sureal thing to witness.

Just fascinated to see what Gadv does in 2026. Reclaiming the height record seems like the only way to justify axing Ka...but idk how realistic that is.

That record is going to be hard to beat with the price of steel since the next record is going to be next summer in Saudi Arabia. It's going to be 639 feet tall with a 510 foot drop.

Falcons Flight - Six Flags Qiddiya City (Al Muzahimiyah, Ar Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)

I think the ride for Great Adventure is going to be like Voltron at Europa Park or Velocoaster at Universal Studios,. Just taller, longer and faster with possibly more inversions.

Just bring back Lightnin' Loops. Nothing like being shot forward through a loop, then backward, with another coaster doing the same thing at the same time with a loop that goes through yours.

It's not really that extreme with the land it takes up and 2 using the same tower (Kingda Ka and Zoomanjaro). Green Lantern, Parachute Tower and Twister are not large footprint rides either so using that whole space probably gets them room to go for something between 7-9K feet long which will be a monster and very impressive to people entering the park as it will sit right beside the parking lot and may even take some of the current lot if they need it for the ride.

I hated that walk up and down the steps as the whole structure shook when each launched.

One of the two tracks lives on.

The other got destroyed in 1998

I'm sad Busch Gardens doesn't time Loch Ness to loop at the same time anymore. Mostly because people can't get in and out of the ride fast enough to allow the dispatch times needed for it.

How tall is the hill after the cliff tho? Isnt it like 525? They could do tallest "free standing coaster" if they went like 535.

A taller velocicoaster would be great tho.

I hate coasters. I hate heights.
It’s honestly not the heights that bother me in coasters, it’s the cross bars that I know I won’t hit but think I will.
My favorite has been the Aerosmith coaster in Disney because I couldn’t see them.

I’m also a little touched because the first time in went on the Pharaoh, yes the swinging carnival Pharaoh, while properly secured I was sliding all over the place feeling like I was going to fall out.

I'll be at Universal Orlando the next two days with the family. What are the must-rides other than Velocicoaster and Hagrids? I'm pretty pumped after spending the last two days in Disney with what seemed like trillions of other people .
