Amirov Medical Status: Update Oct 6: In Toronto, training with Leafs Staff

I've known two people in my life who had brain tumors (multiple in both cases) and received treatment and are now cancer free. Best wishes Amirov, I know it's a brutal thing to endure. The prognosis for recovery from these things is significantly better now than in the past. Stay positive and you'll be over this in no time, pain is temporary.

I too, had a cousin with a brain tumour, who is cancer free living a normal life. We can only hope the same for Amirov.

I think that should be the least of our concerns at the moment. Hopefully Amirov has a full and speedy recovery. He’s got the best organization behind him during this helping him so I’m very hopefully everything will be okay.

OMG this is horrific news .. forget about hockey and live life to its fullest .. I had a good friend Cosmo, a local hockey coach in GTA, who had brain cancer and it was really rough for many years .. makes me super sad and feel for him and his family

He's in Germany, the medicine there is at the cutting edge. No doubt he is getting the absolute best care possible especially with the Leafs backing it. Gliomas are most common in adults between ages 45 and 65 years old. Odds are it is not. Fingers crossed.
