Wow, terrible news. Really don't care about anything other than his health at this point. Hockey is far far away from the priority at this point.

Hopefully it is treatable. Understandably that is one of the hardest area's on the body to operate on. Far too risky most of the time. I just hope he can have a fruitful life, hockey aside.

I'd guess everyone responds differently, but maybe some people wish to keep busy and/or active. I just lost a friendly acquaintance to cancer recently – as little as a few weeks before he passed, he was still attending a book club meeting with us. I can see the appeal, though get why some people might prioritise other things too.

additionally it may be necessary to do things your familiar with as brain function can be impacted

Terrible news for the kid, hopefully its treatable. Dedicated his whole life to hockey, has the talent to be a star, and life gives him a big FU. You really really hate to see it.

Frakk!
Such a gutwrenching diagnosis on such a young lad. May he manage a full recovery and enjoy a healthy life, with or without hockey.
Stay strong, Rodion!

Good news all things considered, but maybe he should relax a bit here. Perfectly ok to do so.
I'm sure they wouldn't let him play if it was too hard on him. Right now it's probably a nice escape for him to be able to go out and skate around. Treatments for these kinds of things are fun and can be extremely harsh on the body.

I've known two people in my life who had brain tumors (multiple in both cases) and received treatment and are now cancer free. Best wishes Amirov, I know it's a brutal thing to endure. The prognosis for recovery from these things is significantly better now than in the past. Stay positive and you'll be over this in no time, pain is temporary.

Holy shit. This is the type of news that stops me dead in the tracks. Only 20 years old.

Knowing a handful of people who are currently battling brain cancer or have succumbed to it the last few years, this really hits home.

Wishing him all the best, and may he fight his battle like no other.
