I wasn't seeing HDR through the Prime Video app on my Apple TV (latest model, latest updates). Then I switched to my iPad Pro and saw NHL hockey in glorious HDR for the first time!

I thought the sound was much higher quality, like an earlier poster said, likely to due to using more modern compression codecs. If this is the future of what hockey broadcasts can be, I am here for it. Specifically, I didn't miss the "shwooshiness" of the crowd & skating sounds on Rogers so-called broadcasts.

Just need an option to turn off the commentary and enjoy the arena ambience. :)

Thought it was great.

Only issue I can think of is Messier on the Panel. He seemed to really struggle with his thoughts. Even saying old cliches seemed a bit much for him.

Yep it’s only Canada but after tonite I’m impressed and hopefully Amazon gets the national rights not only in Canada but the USA as well, anything is better than ESPN and Sportsnet.
I mean, I'm not complaining about getting a good amount of the games for $10.99 a month on ESPN+. The Apple TV app has a multicast feature that lets you put 4 games on the screen, I mostly use that to quickly switch around between them. It's great.

For US viewers, the Amazon Prime Canada feed was available on ESPN+, along with the Penguins feed. I assume that will continue.

Some very interesting camera angles. The puck was out of frame a couple of times, but I was impressed with the coverage overall. Their production will improve.

Forslund is always good on pbp. Jody is surprising insightful. Thomas Hickey is a natural; great find there. Get rid of Messier.

The picture quality was excellent, which is literally all I want in 20-****ing-24. Couldn’t care less about the PBP, intermissions.

My biggest gripe with being forced to streaming services is you’re just kinda stuck there compared to the glory days of cable TV where you can seamlessly change channels. Depending on your TV or media player’s interfaces you might not have time to flip to another game or program before the commercials end.

Best case scenario at this point is all sports somehow end up on the same service with an interface as seamless as Bell Fibe.

Any thought regarding the first day of Prime Monday Night Hockey?? I think production quality, sound quality blows Rogers Sportsnet out of the water. They have a much cleaner graphics, score bar and the panel seems pretty professional.

Sportsnet plus has been complete garbage in Canada for reliability due to glitches and constant errors.
I like it. If Prime took over all non-network broadcasts, I couldn't be happier even though Scripp's coverage of the Knights has been excellent.

Prime was excellent last night, zero hiccups, and great quality picture.
Maybe the app, you’re using to access prime.
Dude nobody had issues but you. So clearly something going on internally. Your TV, TV setting, interference etc.
I was watching it over super weak wifi upstairs, as router is in the basement of a big house, and it was flawless through the whole game.

I hate Sportsnet so I welcome this and hope Amazon can get the full rights when they are up. I don’t even care if this forces Rogers to improve. They sucked and took our money for too long. I’m done with them if Amazon can get full rights.

The coverage was so player focused, it was like the opposite of Sportsnet. Take notes Sportsnet since Canadian viewers are stuck with you, there’s a much better presentation on the horizon.

I found it to be very refreshing and the way to grow the game.
This was for Canadian viewers since Sportsnet sold the rights to Amazon for Monday nights.

You must be responding to the wrong person, as I responded to the person who was actually having issues. What in this post you quoted, makes it sound like I was having issues.

If your router is located in the basement, you need a hardwired mesh router setup, or a tri-band mesh setup if you can't wire them.
