Offensively yes, but as style fit with those 2 he very much is. He is hard on the defense on the forecheck, turns pucks over, creates space and causes havoc in front of the net.

More offense is needed, but he fits as to what the other 2 guys can accomplish with his presence.
Agree! I wish Podz had a bit more finish to him, but he’s great on the forecheck and makes smart enough plays to get his linemates the puck.

That goal at the end of the second period can’t happen. So easily avoidable with a bit harder play in the NZ and even by Kapanen in the OZ. A terrible goal to give up. Not the best night for Nurse imo.
I have a tough time blaming Nurse on that one when you see where his center is.

He and Ekholm got hung out to dry.

I know winning the division would be nice but you're looking at the Wild or MacKinnon and Makar as the 1st round matchup vs. the Kings or Miller-less Canucks/Flames. Not that they shouldn't be favorites against Minny or Colorado but I know which 1st round opponent I prefer, could be a blessing and a curse to win the division.
Maybe just overtake Winnipeg for top spot, yeah that sounds good.

I'm okay with our guys not putting as much points as they should. I can't think of one guy that's cheating on offense. Everyone is buying in.

Everyone expects Colorado to overtake Minnesota, who would drop to WC1 and play the winner of the Pacific. If the Avs can't overtake a banged up Wild squad down the stretch, maybe you want to play them?

Plus he's easy to "sub" for if you want a different look or more offensive flair.

Ideally he doesn't stay there, he has very effective 3rd line forward written all over him, but he fits this team right now.

So I expect the Oilers will send Philp down during the break, so they should do that today and re-call Savoie. Give him a look with the big club, after all he's done well this year.
