Just curious- can they do 90's CCM's? I used to go to Cosby's for these but they're currently closed.

To my knowledge nobody can do the 90s CCMs exactly to team specs anymore. Cosby's lost the font specs years ago when they transitioned from MSG to the next location on 31st street according to the old icejerseys forum. Arena wear can certainly letter the jersey and it'll look good but it won't be 100% accurate compared to the old Cosby's done authentic.

If you really want to go crazy Keaner in Winnipeg probably does the best job with 80s/90s/Early 2000s Ranger jerseys. But its a very time consuming and expensive process to send everything all the way to Winnipeg, wait a few weeks/months depending on the workload and then have them come all the way back east.

Good points....I've had a few of these done by Cosby's going back around 7-8 years ago (when they were no longer at MSG) and I did notice the slight differences between the OG 90's work they did and now. Yeah I've seen Keener's work- it's very good but not very convenient lol.

What kind of jersey are you stripping? Authentic? Game Issue/Used? Heat pressed from MSG/Dicks/Etc ? Do you have some photos?

I've personally stripped 25+ NYR jerseys for my PC and for friends. It's not that difficult if you're dealing with a jersey that was originally sewn. All you really need is a seam ripper, a standard household iron, and Goof Off / Goo Gone depending how things go.

This was a pre season issued jersey that I stripped myself and turned into a Shesterkin.

It’s an authentic Lundqvist Reebok 6100 jersey that I snagged on eBay years ago. I am fine with the name (w/o nameplate) and number stitching on the back of the jersey. However, to my irking, the ‘30’ on each sleeve is too big in size — I don’t recall if this jersey was originally purchased at MSG or customized elsewhere — so I want to strip them and send the jersey to Arena Wear to restitch (in the correct size) for a more authentic look. AW told me they’d restitch the ‘30’ on each sleeve but they don’t strip.

If you want to go about it the right way, and have the proper stitching, it takes some time and effort but:

Step 1: Buy a blank jersey through Coolhockey
Step 2: Send it to Arenawear to have it customized

My wife wants a jersey, and she doesn't know quality difference, however, I can't stomach buying the Fanatics ones because those may as well be t-shirts.

She wants a Zibanejad home and I'm looking at getting her the one from Coolhockey (link below). Does anyone know what the difference is between the pre-stitched versus hand-stitched? As long as it's stitched well enough and not laminated, I'm not too concerned, I just don't want some laminated trash and basically need "good enough."

I don't know the answer, but I do know that their photos don't have a nameplate. If you decide to get one, make sure they can get you a nameplate and use the proper material.

I believe this is the exact difference. The pre stitched don't have name plates similarly to how the old MSG shop jerseys were stitched by machine in mass before the season. If you go the cool hockey route definitely go for the hand stitched so you get the nameplate and everything.

I've personally never used cool hockey but there have been mixed reviews about them from other posters.

Not that I blame them for this, but all the people that ordered a Laff jersey before the season got a nameplate that wasn't like the ones used on the ice. That being said, they didn't know.

I would prefer Hockey Authentic, but they are out of stock in the small & medium sizes. She might be able to fit in an XS, but I really don't want to risk it.

I'm also seeing on Sports SK they have two options which with Arenawear, would actually save me a few bucks off CoolHockey.

What's the difference between Primegreen & Adizero?

On a separate note, I am eyeing an Igor Russian jersey. I'd like it like the below one on Ebay, but I'm not sure how legit that is. Does anyone know where I can get authentic KHL ones like this or the level of quality this one in the photo looks like?

The difference isn't in the nameplate, but in the way it's stitched. Hand-stitched has the lettering stitching through the fabric, while the pre-stitched is heatpressed onto the jersey. Both have nameplates.

Anatomy of a NHL Jersey - New York Rangers

Coolhockey does a good job for what you pay. You can order a blank, send it to Arenawear and have it customized the exact same way as the official jerseys, but it'll cost you double. If that's worth it to you, go for it. Otherwise, order a customized one from CH.

Oh, and ignore Ed Jovanovski when he comes in here to cry about how terrible Coolhockey is because he had 1 bad experience. Coolhockey is miles ahead of Fanatics and for that price, among the best in quality.

Not that I blame them for this, but all the people that ordered a Laff jersey before the season got a nameplate that wasn't like the ones used on the ice. That being said, they didn't know.

The issue with the Laf jerseys wasn't so much Coolhockey "making a mistake" but simply nobody knowing how the nameplates were done on the ice, as it was only then announced his name would have an accent grave on it. I have it, and I kinda like it that way but you can't blame a company for not knowing how the team will customize a jersey if that info hasn't been released yet.

Adizero they used in prior adidas seasons, Primegreen they’re using this year and going forward. Main difference is with Primegreen the Rangers going across the front of the jersey is raised compared to how it was before which was a reverse kiss cut type product. Additionally, Primegreen is made out of recycled material.

Aa for CoolHockey, they do a solid job with other teams but I wouldn’t personally get Rangers jerseys from them. I’m particular about things but I’ve noticed issues with customization including wrong color nameplates and incorrect arching of the name which would drive me nuts personally. Arena Wear is incredibly expensive but quick turnaround time. EPS (current on ice customizer) is more affordable but turnaround time is months. Hockey Authentic seems like a decent option also comparable to Cool Hockey from what I’ve seen. Really depends how much you’re willing to pay, how quickly you want the jersey, and how accurate you want the jersey to be.

Yeah, like I said: If you are very picky about customization, go with Arenawear.

Primegreen jerseys are pretty cool. I really like the difference in quality. My biggest gripe is still with Adidas for branding their retail jerseys as "authentic" but that's a different discussion.

@Amazing Kreiderman @NYRFAN218 @RosensRug Y'all are rockstars, thank you.

Regarding the price, I saw from ArenaWear that Statboy listed earlier it was $125 for basic home/away. If i get the Primegreen from SK for $140 then send to arenawear, I'm looking at roughly the same as the $260 as the hand stitched from CoolHockey. Just want to make sure I"m not missing anything because for like $5 difference I may as well go that route to get the higher quality.

Do you guys have any advice on the Igor piece as well or know who would? I know that's a bit of an obscure question and for the price I'm honestly inclined to just order it on Ebay and see how it looks.

Keep in mind you'll have to pay for shipping (call it $8-$10 for USPS) to Arena Wear, tax on the customization at $125, plus return shipping from Arena wear (forget the exact number but they use UPS so it'll be more than USPS). Adds up quickly.

I've got nothing on the Igor jersey unfortunately, not too familiar with KHL jerseys.

If you're going the arena wear route make sure you tell whoever it might be USPS or UPS no weekend delivery. The shop is closed Saturday/Sunday so you don't want your package sitting around all weekend outside.

The jersey you shared here is a replica (fan) jersey. So it's all sublimated. If you want a proper jersey with stitching etc, you have to look at a website like thejerseyhub.com who produce the jerseys themselves (They're affiliated with Lutch)

Thank you! Yes, I decided to go this route. The projected shipping dates from CH are not until a month from now, so I'd prefer to just order from SK and send to Arenawear. It might cost a little extra with shipping, but hopefully the turnaround time is more reasonable and it'll hopefully last her as long as Mika is with the squad.

The Ebay seller is actually jerseyhub, so I think this one is probably a decent replica? I really want this army style specifically but on their website they only have a small or goalie size and neither will fit me.

It is a decent replica, but a sublimated replica nonetheless. I got the same jersey but authentic from them a few years ago. Pretty good quality.

I'm gonna mull on it for a while. I'll see how my wife's jersey turns out and maybe it will convince me to just go the arenawear route haha.

Thanks again for everyone's help. Much appreciated!

Is Cosby's Manhattan store closed permanently? Anyone know

Walked by a few months ago and construction crews were gutting the inside of the store. Like mentioned above I also doubt they'll reopen again. Even prior to COVID and the BLM protests they were getting killed by the MSG shop in the lobby and online competition.

Wonder what anyone here knows about TI or GI Adidas Primegreens. Looking for a pair of blue/white up to size 56. I have not seen anything outside of the typical starters up to bid.
