Dion seems a lot more chipper this year.
What time does it start, and do we get a free stream?
stream has been posted
David Alter @DavidAlter590
Lupul-Bozak-Kessel, MacArthur-Kadri-Kulemin, Connolly-Grabo-JVR, McClement-Hamilton-Brown, Orr-Steckel-Frattin, Komarov-Lombardi,
Switch Connoly with Fratin and those look like 3 decent #2 lines, which may be how we win. Offence by committee
Those are a lot closer to the lines we might see on opening day.
I like the idea of putting Kadri between 2 good 2-way players like Kulemin and MacArthur.
Grabovski with JVR also seems good on paper.
Overall, again on paper, I like these lines. Replace Orr with Komarov and it's not half-bad.
Dion seems a lot more chipper this year.
I liked Burke, but the more I think over his firing and watch nonis, the more I'm liking the move by the owners. The negativity that Wilson and Burke brought and displayed on a regular basis put the team in a bad light. It's refreshing to see our coach and gm smiling. I'm sure the players feel the same way, at the end of the day their jobs are no different then ours, it sucks working with and especially for people who aren't happy.
We did talk about switching to a top 9 - bottom 3 approach.
Carlyle liked having
All out O
Sheltered O
Shut Down
Grinder
So I could see something like
Lupul - Kadri/Bozak - Kessel
Kulemin/JVR - Grabo - Mac
JVR/Kulemin - Kadri/Bozak - Fratin
That look like an exciting top 9, and Kule-Grabo-Mac was our shut-down type line 2 years ago
The negativity comes from losing and only losing.
If the team doesn't improve under Nonis and Carlyle, the negativity will be back.
Bull****, Burke and Wilsons rough exteriors are their trademarks, win or lose.
That's not negativity, that's their style.
If they won, there wouldn't be negativity around the club.
It does play a factor though.
Losing with a more positive approach of building towards a goal, developing young talent and getting better everyday is quite a bit better than losing with a negative approach where the coach is calling out players, the GM is open with the media about how he wants to make changes etc. Makes it alot easier to come to work and "get back in the saddle"
It plays a factor in what?
Making it easier to come to work? What does that have to with the negativity from the fans and media? There is only one cure for that.. winning.
Glad someone posted this. I agree - he seems BIGTIME more "chipper" as you put it.
Then, he did get engaged for what that's worth & has had plenty of time to reflect on things.
One can only hope that Carlyle is considerably more clear than the one Wilson delivered...that has got to help this group of D.
The way Carlyle is talking about intimidation etc, I can't wait to see Tyler Biggs at training camp next October, not to mention the likes of Ross & Devane.
You have to think Fraser/Holzer's toughness will be much in demand & it should be intersting to see who is prepared to go to "war".
Seems like Carlyle/Nonis will have a way better chance to play the way BB had always intended which yet again raises the question: If Wilson was never going to play the way BB wanted a team to, why keep him on as long as he did? BB was clearly jaded in respect of this, it makes no sense whatsoever.
Looking forward to watching these guys bring it on asap!
