It will be interesting to see what the 2nd and 3rd line look like...Kulemin seems to have his confidence back so I would want to give him a shot on the 2nd line before designating him in a shutdown role. Komarov could play on the 2nd/3rd/or 4th...then where do JVR Mac and Kadri go? Hard to imagine who will be on this supposed 3rd line shutdown line.

With the mobility and puck movement that Gardiner brings ontop of what we already have, I can see Kostka being on the outs there.

Carlyle is a fan of Fraser and can step in and do what Komisarek is expected to do if Mike isn't performing.

Holzer (foot injury aside) has been so solid with the Marlies. He can move but plays like a big man. I really like watching him play, and how tidy he keeps his side of the ice.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't give a former 30 goal scorer the chance with Grabovski. Only other player who has proven he can score 30 in the NHL is Kessel.

If we are sending Rielly down, I sure hope this pushes MJ to actually go and trade him to a team that doesn't suck. Couldn't be much worse returning to a team that bad for the rest of the season.

Gardiner looks like he'll join practice today for the first time.

Leafs still not on ice yet at ACC. A couple of players have been given the bad news. One could be Frattin, who will head back to Marlies.

I thought the trade deadline had already passed in junior?

Side note does anyone know why we didn't bring up that second junior prospect? I remember they said you would be allowed to call up 2 certain Players that you designated

Trade deadline's over.

Lance Hornby ‏@sunhornby

Colton Orr, Kadri, Kostka still here

Kevin McGran ‏@kevin_mcgran

No Frattin, No Rielly

Barry Davis ‏@SNBarryDavis

Morgan Rielly not among #leafs on the ice for practice. Kostka and Frasor are practicing.

So I'm guessing Holzer is cut.

Better Frattin sent down than Kadri.

Frattin and Rielly final Leafs cuts.

Disappointing to see Frattin get sent down but I guess it gives him more time to gain momentum from his knee injury last year. Hopefully he'll be up permanently by mid-season.
