Chevy just being a Manitoban. Let everyone else buy the shiny new toys, spend all the money they can, and then waltz in a few days later and get some bargain signings with a toy who doesn’t see many home options left. The priority, in my opinion, of True north is to make profit rather than win a Cup. This fits well into their mantra, and Chevy can spout the line that he won't overpay and made the right decisions (for Profit at least).

We will see some marginal signings late in the day and over the next few weeks. Good deals, but not ones that would push us to the top for a few years, even if the final few years of the contract causes some pain.

First RFA contracts don't get ugly as the player has virtually no leverage. I also don't think Perfetti is butt hurt. He seems pretty excited about Arniel being the new head coach.

Also a very well defined market on what his second contract will be. It will be in the 3 to 3.5 aav range. I doubt it takes all that long to iron out once they get to it.

Yeah, we know Winnipeg has to overpay to attract UFA's. Today was not a day to expect some great free addition. I am glad Chevy did not pay Monaghan $5.5 per year.

Still worried he is going to sign Henrique (about 5 years too late).

Now, I do hope he can swing a deal or 2...

Skinner would have to be very cheap, he gets injured alot.

This now atleast clears the door to re-sign Ehlers. Even if he doesn't want to re-sign, Chevy should make him "an offer he can't refuse", offer him a matching deal to Scheifele. Doubt anyone else can offer him that as a FA so that should make him and his agent atleast consider it. Now more than ever the Jets need him to be the veteran presence for younger players.

Henrique is maybe better than I thought. Averages about 40 points per season. Pretty soft top 6 though.

Tarasenko is not going to sign in Winnipeg. His family lives in Florida, and we don't have an airport to help him get back-and-forth to see them.

Skinner feels like an eastern conference player. Henrique probably back to Anaheim.

We are not finding anyone to replace Ehlers whether in trade or FA. If that's what it takes then that's what it takes.

Short term in like, 1 year short term. I'd prefer to just let the kids take on roster positions, unless you get someone who clearly makes a difference.
