Draw is out for Queen's.

Felix gets Dimitrov and Denis gets Del Potro.

Interesting matchups.

Raonic still in the draw but we'll see if he plays.

Mannarino and Coric are putting people to sleep in the Netherlands. Coric takes the first set, 6-4. Most fun is watching Adrian's lousy technique (basically, an arm swipe with nothing behind it) on many of his forehands. God forbid Borna should lose this match.

Second set: Rats. Numbed into Mannarino's somnambulant pace and softball approach, Coric allows himself to be broken, 3-1.....Mannarino takes the set 6-3 and now Coric's mechanics are all messed up.

Third set: Mannarino serves for the match and is broken as Coric for the second match in a row survives a match point against, 5-all.....play currently suspended due to rain with the breaker 3-2 Mannarino to serve.

Felix, having lost the first set 6-4, is increasingly frustrated at the start of the second set...but on serve 2-1....He isn't playing that badly at all--he and Matteo have won the same number of points at the moment-- but he can't get to a break point on Berrenntini's serve.

Tough loss in a final again for Felix. Had multiple set points and fought off match points but couldn't get it done.

That first title will come, I just want him to get it as an 18 year old

Epic tie breaker (12-10) which Felix thought he h;ad won, not once but twice. Felix left nothing on the table, but Berrettini played near flawless tennis all match. For a guy whose success has come primarily on clay, on which he has won his only two previous titles, Matteo's service game and clutch play were devastating from beginning to end.

Mannarino versus Thompson sounds like a first round match, but one of these two journeymen players is going to win his first title today.

Mannarino takes the title in straight sess. Funny, in that finesse players seldom take grass court titles, but, I guess, not in this particular case as grass is by far Adrian's best surface. Go figure.

So does the first week on grass clarify the upcoming Wimbledon tournament? Not in the least. With Nole the favourite and Rafa and Roger the only other likely contenders on the horizon, it is impossible to even pick a dark horse candidate at the moment (I was fooling around with the idea of Raonic but his health issues have put the kibosh on that).

Winning Halle could be big for Federer, it would make him the 2nd seed at Wimbledon avoiding Djokovic until the final and possibly Nadal as well.

Roger should be eager to knock off Millman who pulled the surprise upset against him in the round of 16 last year at the US Open.

As usual at Halle, Roger starts off lookiing rusty on the surface (he lost to Haas here in his first match in 2017, the last year he won Wimbledon). But after an indifferent set, Roger plays a fine tie breaker, bonking Millman 7-1 in the process.

Funny how I just have come to expect artistry from Federer the same way I have come to expect a never-say-die approach from Rafa. It is easy to lose sight of just how difficult those things are to pull off, how rare they are, and yet each trait seems just a natural part of that player's DNA--something fans have come to expect from them without even thinking about any more. That's pretty damn impressive.

Second set isn't pretty but Roger gets the job done, 6-3. Good to get that one out of the way.

Real tight first set between Denis and Del Potro but Del Potro gets his first break point at 5-5 and makes it count. He serves out the first set 7-5. Tough to take there...

Del Potro takes the second 6-4.

Another tight loss for Denis.

I feel like he's close, but just can't play consistent enough throughout a match.

Denis is now 15-15 on the year. If it wasn't for an excellent showing in Miami where he knocked off three Next Gens on the way to a semi-final loss to Federer, he would be having a pretty dismal year.

Raonic back on the court today in London, takes out Cecchinato.

Felix still on the schedule today vs Dimitrov.

Edit: Scratch that...Felix moved to tomorrow.

DelPo pulled out of doubles and has now pulled out of singles.
Near the end of his match with Denis, Juan Martin came to the net, slipped a little, and seemed to tweak something. I thought, "Oh, oh."

Cilic out against Schwartzman in London. Basically loses all 500 points he was defending from last year.

Inching closer to falling out of the top 20 and #52 in the live race, Cilic definitely looking on the decline for a while now.
