That was nuts. Felix looked like he was dead, then somehow recovered only to lose in the breaker after being up 5-3? And the last point was off a let cord.

Judging by the clips I saw Felix was every bit the future world #1 in his win against Tsitsipas and every bit the present 18 year-old in his loss against Nishioka.

Still early days and a lot can happen, but you just gave me an idea for my next tennis-themed avatar for when the Big 3 decide to hang up their rackets!

Exactly. We've seen it before where players go on runs and can't keep it up.

Let's hope our trio is for real!

Stan not really feeling it tonight. Roger in straight, unexciting sets. Wawrinka now 3-22 lifetime against Federer.

Fun match coming up, though--Sabalenka and Kerber.

Weird match so far. Sabalenka loses the first set badly 6-1 behind 21 unforced errors, then recovers from love-2 down to win the second set as Kerber's concentration, once again, lapses.

Weirdness continues in the deciding set as Sabalenka gets off to a 4-1 lead behind two service breaks and then loses the last five games of the match. Kerber won eight of the first nine games; Sabalenka won ten of the next 13 games; and then Kerber won the last five games in a row.

Milos takes the first set 6-4 when Struff double faults at 30-40 having been up 30-0.

Milos breaks for 2-0

Milos up 3-0. Milos almost breaks but after being ahead and going back and forth, Struff wins 3-1.

Milos now up 4-1.

4-2 Milos after another close game

5-2 Milos.

5-3 Milos and he is serving for the match.

And he holds for the win!

Denis down 5-6 but on serve. And loses in a breaker

1-0 Denis on serve

2-0 Denis! He breaks and seems to have totally shaken off the first set.

2-1 Denis. There goes the break.

3-2 Denis on serve. They are both holding pretty easily except for the 2 break games.

4-2 as Denis breaks. He was down ad but came back.

5-2 Denis as he consolidates. His serve has been excellent.

Denis breaks for 6-2 and will start off serving in the 3rd!

What the hell? Denis gets broken in his first service game.

2-0 down. Can he come back?

Denis holds and trails 2-1.

Denis trails 3-1. Hurkacz isn't going away.

3-2 Hurkacz, he is still up a break.

4-2 Hurkacz even though Denis had some chances.

4-3 Hurkacz as Denis holds easily.

5-3. Denis had his chances to break but Hurkacz was equal to the task.

Oh no. Denis double faults to lose the match.

Andreescu absolutely destroyed Muguruza. Into the SF.

She's top 10 in the live race right now.

Raonic wins in straight sets.

Denis up 5-2 in the second. Lost the first set in a TB.

3 Canadians all going at once late in a big tournament :)

That's amazing about Bianca! I hope TSN starts showing her matches.

Edit: 1 and 0?? Whoa!!

Fantastic week from Andreescu so far. From the articles written about her thus far her favourite players are Halep and Clijsters, and from the highlight packs I do see a little bit of both from her (heck she may even have more variety in her game). I don't follow the WTA as much as the ATP but she is gonna be a star if she isn't already.

Bianca up to #37 at the moment. And she doesn't look like that is anywhere near her ceiling. Just getting started....

Clijsters is a good comparison. Physically the same type of player.

Andreescu plays with great variety as well.

She now has a fulltime fitness coach with her, which has obviously helped a lot.

Pretty crazy she could go from qualifier at the AO to a seed at RG.

Agreed with both.

Noticed in her presser how she talked about tactics and I would add that she is very tactically advanced for her age (when she is in control of her emotions) - maybe even better at this facet of the game than a few of the women in the Top 10 right now.

As he seemingly always does on hard courts, Monfils had an easy time with the hapless Kohlschreiber, winning love and 2. Gael is off to one of the best starts of his career--sure would be nice to see him win a Slam this year, which doesn't seem utterly impossible at the moment given the way that he is playing.
