No Nick Lardis last night , I tuned in and just missed them talking about it , sounded like an injury.

A poster at a recent game in Brantford said he was seen with a "cast/maybe a very heavy brace on his left hand" and another poster said his Upper body injury is to his wrist but the cast is "hopefully more precautionary and not due to an actual fracture."

Take that for what you will. Not much information coming from the team

Moore and Rinzel each ended up with 3 assists. Moore's were all primary- one off a faceoff win, the clip above where he made some really nice passes during a shift with sustained pressure, and a drop pass on the rush where he created a ton of space with his speed. He seems to have used a good showing at the WJC as a bit of a springboard into the second half of the year, would be great if he can keep that up.

Rinzel looked very good tonight but still made a handful of his seemingly characteristic sloppy, unforced turnovers in his own zone. Up to 21 points in 23 games though as a freshman D who was supposed to be way behind the development curve. Hard not to be very happy with his progress to this point

So 3a for Moore...all primary assists...and +3...all at evens..

Rinzel also 3a ...all secondaries ..2 on the PpPand 1 at evens (Minn 5th goal where Moore got the prinary assist and Rinzel the secondary).

Ohio St. Scored both their goals on the PP and Rinzel scored only 1 of his 3a at evens...so no way Rinzel could have a zero +/- ...he should have a +1 stat yet they showchim at zero
.I cannot see how..

Whike it is maybevtheir best night in combined
Production(6 points)it is more impressive that Moore shined at Evens and Rinzel as part of the Minn. PP ( 2 of his 3a on the PP )and that the only points they got together on a goal was that Minn 5th goal at E, it means they each spread 2/3 of their out put with other team-mates...

However the 1 concern I have about theirvbest game in combined production is that

Rinzel only had 2 shot on goal...and Moore only 2 shotsvon goal ..so stull deferring to other shooters with set-up assists...need to see more assertive "go to" goalscoring ...takeovercgsme goal scoring..

Here is that helper. The replay does not show Rinzel's outlet hitting Moore in stride.

When you zoom out and look big picture with Rinzel this year has been truly incredible for his development. Won his way onto the WJC and won a regular shift on that team, leading Minnesotas defense in scoring nearly PPG.

Really changing his outlook with a monster season. Still has flaws but my goodness.

Still a long way to go but he’s been levels above where I figured he’d be this year. Davidson and co must be over the moon with how this year has gone for him

The other thing that has me excited about Rinzel is that I really do believe this regime knows how to develop defensemen. With his tools and good development the sky is the limit.

Rinzel is putting up excellent numbers for a Gopher freshman D. He's tied for most assists with EJ and will surely end up with more points than him, and the most in about 30 years.
EJ: 4-20-24 in 41 games
Rinzel: 1-20-21 in 23 games

Yes, Rinzel is a year older than EJ was.

Which is why it’s crazy to me everyone is so negging on Levshunov. Right handed defensemen that are big skate well and have tools are so tantalizing. Rinzel went first round and Levshunov is at (or ahead) in his draft year where Rinzel in his D+2. Just gotta coach those guys up.

Where is he getting 23 points in 24 games from? I'm seeing 20 in 23 on EP and hockeyDB
Usually those sites don't update that quickly, not likely having the game people were posting clips from where he got 3 pts
