They do not care about "quality" as long as their business metrics are trending up.

Quantity is the name of the game in streaming. It's why all the major players are buying as many properties in bulk as they can

NBC should triple down on live sports because I don't see how they can ever compete with what Warner, Disney, or even Amazon are churning out right now.

More like someone doesn't understand numbers... Or the GDP of Belgium. ;)
Ughhh....

WWE is a content provider. That is why NBCU pays them roughly the GDP of Belgium: Produce content for Peacock. The only other revenue to be made is essentially ticket sales/merch. A 2 night Mania accomplishes two goals:

1) Provide content for people paying you lots of money.
2) Get a second gigantic gate/merch sales.

If you were WWE why would you not do that?
I get that but then why stop there? Why don't they do a 2 night Summerslam etc?

Jonathan Gresham has apparently asked for his release from ROH / AEW.

from cagesideseats.com:

According to a report from Fightful Select, Jonathan Gresham asked to be released by AEW/Ring of Honor prior to the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view (PPV) just last night (Sat., July 23, 2022) in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Gresham, who lost the ROH world championship to Claudio Castagnoli in the PPV opener, was apparently upset over a “lack of communication” leading to the show. He also reportedly took issue with the amount of time they were given for their title match. It all combined to create a general feeling that he was being disrespected.

A meeting with Tony Khan apparently included Gresham cussing him out.

Gresham signed with AEW just months ago, having been the final world champion for ROH before the promotion was bought by Khan. If his wish is granted, Fightful says he’s will be done with pro wrestling for the time being, at least after he finishes up some other commitments.

As of now, there has been no comment from AEW or Khan on the matter.
An update here: rumor out there is Gresham cited his PWI 500 number as to why he should’ve been booked better

I mean I do kind of get it when Tony hangs up his WON Booker of the Year banner and they made such a big deal out of Omega and Britt's rankings.
Yeah, they did it in storyline. But it’s not how they booked people.

Some allegedly confirmed insiders on r/squaredcircle seem to also be backing this up by saying a big return has been worked out and it's indeed Sasha

Edit Naomi also debunked a story that she was starting a new business after leaving WWE

Becky apparently also separated her shoulder the other night so she may be out. If she is, they can slide right in and we will get a faceoff where I may ascend into heaven

Guessing if it's true they are coming back, they end up on Smackdown. Ronda "suspended" and Charlotte still on break, it's really barren on the women's side
They were teasing Nattie for Liv so I’m guessing that’s what they’re doing.

Might be a good time to bring up Indi Hartwell to Smackdown. Not sure if I'd put her in a program with Liv to lose right away, but roster does need some new blood. Unless you want to heat up Xia Li - or if Sasha/Naomi are really due back.

Indi Hartwell wouldn’t do anything at this point. They still have Raquel Gonzalez to do something with.

An arcade/No Mercy playstyle sounds fun, but it's hard to ignore that it looks like a game from two generations ago right now

See how it ends up.
I think it looks great. Nice to see a return to arcade-y, cartoony graphics for wrestling games.
The WWE ones desperately trying to be simulation based and look "realistic" have killed the property for me since the SDvR series started.

I remember buying WWE '13 the day it came out like a rube and being angry at how much of a slow bore it was.

Same engine. Clean up the graphics. Take my money. It’s as simple as that. The replay-ability of Revenge, 2000, and No Mercy is through the roof. They look like trash and I’d still rather play those than any other wresting game today
