Why is the WWE account announcing that another media outlet broke the news first? It's their hall of fame.

I think that's been their thing in recent years. I think they've had multiple HOF announcements via the ESPN talking head shows. They're just trying to cast their net wider for lapsed fans or people who don't watch on the regular. It's like clockwork, every year I'll get a text from my cousin after he sees some Wrestlemania photos on non-wrestling social media and he'll start asking about the show.

Well it makes sense for the other outlets to announce it first I guess. But the "first reported by X" on WWE's own Twitter account just sounds weird.

WWE is going to run in United Center for the first time since Summerlam 1994 on Monday, October 17. I guess AEW running it got them interested in going there.

I had no idea they hadn't been there in so long. Any reason why?

I wouldn't have guessed that either (looks like they ran a house show at UC in 2018), but I would assume it's just more expensive to run a show there like MSG vs. Barclays Center. Reading some other similar comments now that the other Chicago arena (Allstate/Rosemont) isn't in the city limits so it's cheaper to rent for various reasons.

Wrestlemania has taken place at the Allstate Arena/Rosemont Horizon 3 times in it's history, I thought it was WWE just being loyal to a nostalgic building.

from pwinsider.com:

WWE is bringing Shane McMahon in for Wrestlemania 38 this weekend, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.

There is no word at this time whether McMahon will be appearing on the PPV yet but we are told he will be in town for the entire Wrestlemania weekend.

McMahon was last seen on camera at the 2022 Royal Rumble to set up a potential match with Seth Rollins at this year's Wrestlemania but 48 hours after the Rumble, he was removed from the company's creative plans.

Initially, McMahon was to be a regular on Raw as a heel. He had been pushing to work Austin Theory at Wrestlemania with the idea playing out of Theory's involvement with Vince McMahon but that was never locked 100% in place. There were other forces pushing for Shane McMahon vs. Seth Rollins at this year's Mania Wrestlemania 38.

McMahon was one of the Producers for the Rumble match and was said to have been obviously frustrated the day of the Rumble, with some WWE sources believing that came from his ideas for the bout being shot down by Vince McMahon. The talk at that time was that McMahon was upset that "he wasn't being allowed to do what he wanted" and that he was "greatly preoccupied" by his own role in the Rumble.

Sources at the time stated that Shane's actions directly led to the confusion going on during the bout, backstage issues during the bout and the poor reception the Men's Rumble bout received when it obviously went awry and did not come together. There was a ton of heat on McMahon at the time.

Whether that heat has dissipated and McMahon returns to WWE programming this weekend remains to be seen, but he will be in Dallas.

It was too expensive to run. That’s why it was a big deal when AEW ran it.

Same thing happened when New Japan ran MSG. First off, WWE tried to make them cancel it. When they didn’t they decided they needed to start running TV’s there again.

I don’t know who else it could be, Toni or Ember, unless it’s someone from Ring of Honor. They do have a card to promote on Saturday.

Kevin Owens said that his segment with Austin is the main event of night 1 of Wrestlemania because that is the working plan. They think if Austin comes out earlier that people will start to leave.

How sad that they have nothing better than an in ring interview segment. At least they are aware of it

Shane McMahon is not scheduled to be on Wrestlemania. He goes to the show and hall of fame every year regardless of his status. He may be on the Hall of Fame since Vince is inducting the undertaker

Khan brought positive news to those in attendance, stating that wrestlers would now be allowed to make extra money on top of what they earn as part of their WWE contracts. This includes third-party platforms, which were subjected to a controversial ban in September 2020, reportedly sparking backstage discontent. Fightful note that Cameo, autograph signing sessions, and scripted and unscripted programming are also included in this.

Talent in attendance have described the meeting as a unanimous success, with one quipping that it was a great way to start WrestleMania 38 weekend.

Vince has the best worker in the business, Walter or Hanz or Dieter or whatever the heck they call him now, under contract and cannot work him onto a 2 day card but they booked Johnny Knoxville? FFS.

I didn’t listen to the audio, but Dave Meltzer was being told ‘by people close to Cody’ that he has been considering backing out of Wrestlemania. Sounds like bullshit to me and people trying to work each other. I’m wondering if they bait and switch the match to tomorrow

I want to see the Rollins match and the Austin KO thing. Other than that, I don't care about any other match. First time I won't watch WM in full in 22 years.

Just talking about night 1.

Night 2 I do want to see Reigns-Lesnar and Edge-Styles and I'm surprisingly a bit intrigued by Lashley-Omos.

Ronda Rousey was reportedly so furious upon finding out that she was not going on last that she walked out on Friday and thus wasn’t at the hall of fame.
