I think Owens still deserves a match on the card. Have him beat somebody and then talk trash on the mic after. Then have Austin come in and do his thing.

It's nice for the live crowd I guess but I always thought those segments were boring.

He does, but the person who gets that spot on the show usually means they’re pretty highly thought of. New Day, Alexa Bliss, Bayley in recent years just to name a few. The ‘host of Wrestlemania’ I think they call it.

You just reminded me of how weird it was for last year's host to be Titus O'Neill.

House Of Torture is the single worst thing in all of pro wrestling right now, even worse than anything WWE is doing.

It's meh to me, but I'm also not an Evil fan. I understand the pandemic changed things, but if they were just going to do that anyway they should've just had Evil start his own faction instead of joining BC to begin with.

Drake Maverick, again, is back with WWE immediately after being cut. He is currently working in creative.

That's probably a good role for him to shine in. Anybody that small that isn't super flashy in the ring, but still able to get over so well with every promotion he's been in, deserves a spot.

He's apparently working on Raw. Also is well liked there.

Maybe it's just a coincidence that this week's Raw was very watchable?

Cesaro is out of WWE

from today's pwinsider.com:

WWE star Cesaro has quietly exited WWE after his current contract expired, PWInsider.com has confirmed. He last performed for WWE on 2/11, losing to Happy Corbin on an episode of Friday Night Smackdown.

We are told the two sides had been in negotiations but had not come to terms on a new agreement. One source noted that WWE did offer Cesaro an extension on his current deal but that was turned down.

This would be a case of Cesaro's contract expiring, so there would be no 90-day non compete. Cesaro had been slated to be at tomorrow's Smackdown taping in Hershey, PA, but will obviously no longer be there as his deal expired earlier this week.

Cesaro, 41, had been with WWE since 2011 when he inked a developmental deal with then-WWE developmental territory FCW. Over the course of his run with the company, Cesaro won the first-ever Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 30 and had a run with the WWE United States Championship as well as Raw and Smackdown Title runs with Sheamus, Shinsuke Nakamura and Tyson Kidd. He defeated Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 37 in Tampa last year.

While Cesaro had a long run, he was also consistently underutilized during his WWE tenure. Among fellow talents, he's universally considered one of the best and toughest in-ring performers by any definition of the word. He can likely punch his own ticket anywhere he chooses to land, whether that be coming to terms with WWE at a later time or competing elsewhere. He would obviously be in high demand in a number of places.

Prior to his WWE run, the Swiss star, under his real name Claudio Castagnoli, had a tremendous run as one half of the Kings of Wrestling with Chris Hero in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling NOAH, CZW and CHIKARA. He had a nice run in Europe, obviously, as well.

Long past time for him to go. Easy to say AEW, I'd like to see if he'd go to New Japan. I think that would be real nice for him.

AEW is crowded but I would like to see Castagnoli there. I want to see him with a legitimate push one time.

Latest episode of Chiclets has wrestling talk. Starts around 3:17:00 into the show. Bruce Boudreau being asked his top 5 wrestlers in a presser was the reason it came up. RA tried to rattle off his top 5 and failed. Biz & Whit broke his balls pretty good about it but they don't know who Kerry von Erich was. Funny segment.

IIRC, Cesaro had signed a new contract around this time last year prior to his programs with Rollins and Reigns. Guess it was only for another year.
