They will grossly over pay for him just to say they "got someone" from AEW. Push him for a few months before he gets fed to Roman or Brock, get relegated to the mid card and cut within 2 years.

Vince is finally pulling the plug on WWE 205 Live.

from f4wonline.com:

After 267 episodes, the era of WWE 205 Live has reportedly come to an abrupt end.

According to PWInsider, the first episode of a new program called NXT: Level Up will be taped Tuesday prior to NXT's Vengeance Day that will air on Syfy.

The idea is the one-hour show will replace 205 Live starting immediately. There has been no official announcement from WWE regarding the change so it's unknown if it will debut in 205 Live's Friday 10 PM Eastern time slot or if it will move to a different night. It's assumed it will remain on Peacock/WWE Network.

WWE recently filed a trademark for the Level Up name.

Introduced after the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic, 205 Live began airing WWE Network on November 29 of that year with a focus on cruiserweights. Paul Levesque took over creative in January 2018 and the show became the exclusive home for cruiserweights instead of them also appearing on Raw.

The show bounced between Tuesday and Wednesday nights during its run before eventually finding a home on Fridays in October 2019. It eventually became more integrated with NXT and the 205-pound weight limit was dropped as well.

And speaking of NXT: Level Up - they have hired former ROH announcer/wrestler Quinn McKay ( now known as Kelly Kinkaid ).

from f4wonline.com:

Former ROH talent Quinn McKay made her debut as a WWE on-air personality at tonight's NXT: Level Up taping at the WWE Performance Center.

McKay will use the name Kelly Kincaid in WWE.

Real name Kelly Verbil, McKay made her wrestling debut in 2018 on the indie scene. She joined Ring of Honor in 2019, primarily serving as a backstage interviewer, though McKay also worked as a color commentator, and wrestled a handful of matches for the company.

While primarily used an enhancement talent, McKay took part in the ROH Women's World Championship tournament in 2021, making it to the quarterfinals, where she lost to eventual tournament winner Rok-C. Rok-C was recently offered a WWE deal.

Based in Baltimore, McKay also wrestled three matches for the MCW promotion in November and December 2021, with her last match taking place at the Last Call event in Joppa, Maryland on December 30.

NXT: Level Up will debut this Friday on WWE Network and Peacock, replacing the 205 Live show.

If this happened a few weeks earlier Cody could have returned at the Rumble. That would have been something.

So the latest is he’s going back to Vince, and left due to lack of creative control?

lol gtfo. Triple H Jr

Tony took a lot of the control amidst murmurs that the EVP’s weren’t necessarily on the same page. While Kenny and the Bucks are friends, Cody’s relationship was said to be strictly professional. But I think overall it boils down to Tony having a budget and what Cody wanted didn’t fit in to that when you consider his backstage role was likely reduced.

I could be wrong but I can’t imagine WWE giving him anymore control than what he was getting at AEW.

They won’t, but he’s out - and has been since he was working out of contract - so what else is he gonna do?

It's gotta be a money thing. Even with a loss of booking power, there's no way he'll get that in WWE. $3-5 million per year seems ridiculous for Cody Rhodes.

Quinn MacKay was a fun and unique personality and look on ROH. I’m sure they’ll beat that out of her.

I didn't see she signed with WWE? Was really hoping to see her with AEW. That sucks.

Regarding Rhodes, 3.5 million is a lot to pay for the next 24/7 champion.
