Ole Meltzer has had a rough day lol been provenly wrong on three different things within like 12 hours lol was clear his WWE sources had dried up for a while but kind of seeming like his sources in AEW have gone dry too....
What bullshit are the anti Dave lunatics pushing today?

Also a reminder: The people who push this type of stuff dislike Dave for the same reason that horrible corrupt politicians despise reporters who report honestly about the awful things said politicians do.

I don't hate Dave or anything but he had an objectively rough day yesterday. He reported that Tommy Dreamer was the new head of TNA creative. That was quickly learned to be false. He reported that no other Mexican talent from any other company could be on an AEW show when CMLL were on. That was proven to be false. I don't think the guy is a piece of shit or anything and I do think he gets misrepresented a lot....but he has also been wrong quite a bit. Like I think he lost his sources in WWE, and he has been shitting on AEW a lot the last few months so it isn't exactly surprising if that dried up for him too lol

Shhhh don’t say that Meltzer is beyond reproach

I’ve said it time and time again. Best wrestling historian there ever was. Good writer. Not a good journalist.

Err, even the wrestling media that doesn't really have a position has been pointing out that he shit the bed this week lol.

Between claiming that Triple H and The Rock filmed a face to face promo teasing a Wrestlemania match, (With a WWE 2K15 poster in the background lol) claiming that Ashley Massaro apologized to WWE for her rape allegations when her apology was actually over joining the concussion lawsuit, claiming that Tommy Dreamer was heading TNA creative, and claiming that Tony made a deal with CMLL that no other Mexican talent could be booked on the same show, it's not been a great week for Dave.

He's also getting shit on for standing by his claim that Rock vs. Roman was the plan all along when seemingly everybody else has pointed out that there's no way that was the case, or Cody wouldn't have won the Rumble.

You can be a fan of AEW and all Dave's friends there, and still admit that he's not as credible (Or unbiased) as he once had the reputation of being.

That's funny: I read The Observer and Dave has been quite critical of his "friends" in AEW and things they are doing that he doesn't like. He noted the Massaro apology in the issue 2 weeks ago and in no way said it was over the rape allegation and it was the suit as the whole thing is quoted. It's mentioned because she's in the statement saying she lied about the company in the suit which is a fact that has to be mentioned (yet it couldn't possibly be more clear that he absolutely believes the rape allegation). And the DEBOONKING of the CMLL thing is so hilariously stupid to ANYONE who knows how CMLL operates, the fact that putting together that deal was only slightly less complicated than bringing peace to the Middle East and the fact that the guy who put it together was on WOR a few months back.

For people who don't understand Mexican wrestling and the level of hatred between CMLL and AAA: There's a million times better chance that WWE and AEW would ever work together than CMLL and AAA.

Have to imagine ScottyD returning after the letters

Why would the company backtrack though? Yeah maybe they were doing things that their 48 fans really thought was great, but its not like after all these years he had grown the business or increased viewership. Anthem could probably get more viewers with an infomercial for an air fryer or a new Space age vacuum cleaner, they make Rampage and Collision viewership look like the Super Bowl

Apparently Sonya Deville got married, about a week and a half ago.

Kinda shitty WWE won't allow Nash to even be in the building for Revolution at Stings request. By kinda shitty I mean really shitty.

Agreed. Kevin Nash being present for no other reason than to support somebody is relatively irrelevant in 2024. Letting him go is pretty much a nothing story. NOT letting him go is a terrible look for you.

To me, that's as simple as calling up Tony and saying "Nash wants to be there, we don't want to prevent him from being there, but in exchange we'd like access to Dustin if there's room for that".

And by that I mean, I don't expect either company would allow their guy to get physical or even have a promo segment or a live mic, but to just simply be shown and acknowledged on the other company's TV. Nash and Dustin are pretty irrelevant in 2024. This would be even less significant than when WWE sent Christian to TNA in exchange for Flair being allowed to participate in the HOF.
