They have a whole room full of women that could be built up to pin Rhea. They make the rules. It doesn't take much. Rhea played scared to Nia Jax when Jax wrecked her a couple weeks ago. It took 30 seconds to add the believability.

It makes things infinitely easier if Rhea is booked as a baby face, which wouldn't take much either.

So you missed the parts where I said "bit of an advantage being American" and "Might not have". If you don't think that stuff helped him then I don't know what to tell you.

So you're complaining that I pointed out you said he might not a generational talent if not for his English fluency... When that's literally what you said?

That's not what you said. You made it seem like I said his English is the only reason he succeeded. Keep moving them goalposts though.

Except I didn't. You did...

Do I gotta quote your own post again, or can we quit going in circles?
Rey's English is the reason his wrestling ability shined. Got it...
Actually, you did. Right there for you to see. I already explained what I meant but you for some reason can't follow that and are hung up on the English thing. But yes please post where I said English is the only reason he became a star. Just like you pick and choose who the believability argument applies to, you pick and choose what you reply to.

Round and round and round we go. Quoted you:

First off, Rey had just a bit of an advantage over the other luchadore's being American and speaking English. He might not have been a generational talent without that.

Nowhere in that post you quoted does it say English is the only or main reason he became a star. Learn how to read. I guess I'm going to have simplify this for you. An advantage doesn't mean it's the main reason he succeeded. Is that really that hard for you to understand? Why do you ignore the American part too? This is like arguing with a child. I bet you haven't even seen the other Luchadore's from that era wrestle.

I'm actually reading just fine. You literally said he might not be generational if not for his English.

So might means the only reason lol. You're just moving goalposts again. I said American too but you again ignored that. You acted like I didn't say might before but yeah go on believing that stuff didn't help him because in wrestling becoming a star is strictly based on in ring talent. Weird that Dean Malenko or Lance Storm didn't become mega stars. Rey probably would've became a star anyhow but he wasn't miles better in the ring than some of the other Luchadore's like you seem to think. Have you ever seen Psicosis or Ultimo Dragon wrestle? I know you won't answer that question but thought I'd ask.

You keep saying moving goalposts and yet I've been saying the same shit for like... A page now lol.

You literally f***ing said he might not be a generational star if not for his English speaking ability. I've quoted you saying this multiple times.

Uh no, you implied I meant it's the only reason earlier. In post #4007 you claimed that I said his English is the only reason he succeeded. I've said multiple times that his English gave him an advantage which it definitely did. Why is that so hard to understand?

"Why is that so hard to understand?"

Well... Umm... Because...

First off, Rey had just a bit of an advantage over the other luchadore's being American and speaking English. He might not have been a generational talent without that.

Round and round and round we go. You're still talking in the same circle. I'm still giving the same response to your circular argument. And yet you'll still talk about how I'm "Moving the goalposts" despite repeatedly giving the same answer.

Can we just assume that your circle is infinite and move along? I'd rather not continue cycling through this shit with you for the next 40-50 years because you're in denial that you said he might not be generational if not for his English.

Wow, just wow. That post makes no sense. I'm not denying that I said it gave him an advantage. So your argument is that being American and speaking English gave Rey no advantage at all?

Btw, you're the one going in circles by refusing to put any context in my comment and dodging every question and argument I have.

"That post makes no sense". Really? Because it's been the same thing for about 8 replies now.

There's no questions to dodge. You keep rehashing the same hissy fit because I called you out for claiming he might not be generational without his English.

Come up with something new or don't bother. You said it. You've been quoted multiple times saying it.

I haven't denied once that I said he might not have been a generational talent without his English and being American. You are just too dense to understand what an advantage is or follow a coherent argument. Now go twist that around.

You haven't what?

This is beyond dumb...

Agreed. It's about as ridiculous as suggesting that Bret Hart wouldn't stand a chance in a real fight with No Quads Nash because "He's really tall!"

I've been following this battle quite closely and as an impartial third party, I think @DaaaaB's wins.

I don't think he once said that Rey's English is THE reason for his success as @FriendlyGhost92 has claimed him to have said.
He claimed it gave him an advantage other luchadors or similar talent... and it is true.

Let's be honest, connecting with the audience is a major part of wrestling and if you cannot speak their language, you won't get as over. Look at an Andrade for example. Guy has the look and the wrestling ability. He also has an aura. Yet, he cannot put two coherent sentences together. It is not a coincidence that his most successful run was when he had Zelina as a manager.

I think speaking ability is even more important when you do not have "the size". Look at Sami Zayn. He got super over in WWE because he is an amazing promo. His character work is what made him, not his wrestling ability (which he has plenty of). Show Sami and Roman to anyone on the street and everybody would pick Roman to easily win a fight between them. Sami's character work (and ring psychology) enabled him to appear as a legit threat to Roman.

At the end of the day, Rey speaking English was definitely a huge positive for him. Without it, he probably does not get over as much in the USA. That being said, what makes him a generational talent is also his selling and his psychology in the ring. He is not just a flip artist.
