Which is why he'd debut in front of a crowd with more smarks. UK, Mania, Raw after Mania etc.

I saw some headlines that she's teased about WWE this week or something.
Yeah, but there’s a huge issue here. 99% of the schedule doesn’t involve these places.

There’s another issue. He’s not fluent in English.

I would love for him to come and be a legit top dog, but he won’t. He will never be.

He's gotten a big reaction in AEW, but WWE, at least the live crowds outside of the UK/Canada and obviously Puerto Rico are pretty mid (with very few exceptions)
Who's the bigger star? 2023 Okada or 2016 Nakamura? Because Nakamura was getting great reactions right from the start in WWE. But that might be because he started in NXT and back then, they had more of a smarky crowd.

As the article I linked mentioned, that's not an issue these days.

I don’t think it’s her, I think it’s Mercedes. I think she’s been signed for a while.
Well Rousey made her ROH debut, as posted already, so...

And his first match was built as super important and was an absolute banger.

It is all about presentation.
If you were to tell me Okada was going to sign with WWE and would have the exact same type of run/booking as Nakamura has had in WWE I would say they have wasted Okada. As they have generally done with Nakamura the majority of his time in WWE. That first run was probably the peak for Nakamura.

Unfortunately, yeah, after the match with Sami it was pretty much downhill.

I don’t think so, I could see her appearing, but there’s been no indication she wants to do the schedule yet. Not sure what her situation is with New Japan, she had supposedly agreed to more dates but immediately got hurt.

The Full Gear signing was confirmed to not be Mercedes by Fightful.

As GKJ said it doesn't seem like she wants to do the schedule and honestly AEW isn't really a haven of women's wrestling at the moment.

I could see her doing some appearances along with an impact appearance or two but I think eventually she goes back to WWE.

Different bookers now. HHH has also shown he is OK with talent cutting non-english promos which is a pretty huge change from when Nakamura first came in.

He wouldn't get pushed the way people want, which is to the top, but he wouldn't be a midcard after thought.

Nakamura was in NXT for a year before debuting on the main roster. No one can say one way or the other exactly how many fans knew of him, I'm sure some were aware however I would guess less than 50% of WWE fans knew who he was prior to WWE announcing his signing. Without question that year in NXT made him a recognizable name so when he jumped to the main roster many knew who he was.

edit...I changed the wording to say prior to WWE announcing the signing instead of debuting with NXT because WWE got the word out of his arrival a couple months prior to his debut.

On January 6, 2016, Nakamura confirmed he would be leaving NJPW at the end of the month and signing with WWE.
On January 27, WWE officially announced that Nakamura would be taking part in the NXT TakeOver: Dallas event
On February 22, WWE held a press conference in Tokyo, Japan to officially announce the signing of Nakamura to NXT
On April 1, Nakamura defeated Sami Zayn in his debut match at NXT TakeOver: Dallas

I don't think I knew who he was but I just remember him getting a great reaction for his very appearance on screen challenging Sami Zayn.

Bayley getting betrayed by Joshi Ctrl just for Sasha to come back so we can do a 4HW vs Joshi Ctrl elimination tag match at Mania would be...*chef's kiss*

Or do it in Aussie and then 4HW fatal 4 way for the title at Mania
I will ascend to heaven full body and spirit if that happened

I can't remember the last positive comment about the E from you.
I barely watch it, so you wont...so many storyline make no sense, the characters don't appeal to me

I'm not home on Fridays so I never watch smackdown

I like trick and Melo and what they're doing there, but I absolutely cannot stand Booker on commentary, so I can't watch much NXT. Stratton will be an amazing star if they don't mess it up

The people I do like, they aren't pushing

And quality deflection by not addressing the point

Honestly after stopping watching WWE completely in the last 5 years when I even attempt to tune in when I hear about something good the dog shit camera work makes it a no go within like 10 minutes lol it never used to be an issue but I can't ignore it anymore for whatever reason.
