Williams for Max P makes a **** load of sense for the kings. just doesn't for montreal .

Williams is on pace for career normal production, he is not the problem with Kings scoring.

The Kings need Dustin Brown/Slava/Richards to come out of their funks. Or a trade is not going to matter.

How is it a push? And nowhere did I state Williams is a problem. St. Louis is a huge upgrade over Williams. And if they are to get a top six forward, who is the most likely one to be moved? Williams.

No need for any rumor "sources" dean usually keeps things relatively quiet on who is coming and going.also, moving williams makes the most sense when it comes to dealing from strength to reinforce a weakness.don't need "sources" to see that, just logic.

It doesn't make sense for the Kings, cause you wouldn't get Patches for him.

Or Giradi, you guys need to lay off the cool aid.

Ok so Clifford for Malkin sense we are dealing in what if's. Don't need any rumors for that, or legit sources . Makes tons of sense for the Kings.

So I guess you must be a gm under cover here since you seem to be so in tune with who or what would be moved for who and what.for having your opinions I do not fault you for stating your opinions as if they are the absolute facts of the matter I do.

Reverse the Roles.

If Dan Giradi was already an LA King, Would you trade him, knowing the Kings were trying to resign him, For Justin Williams ?

Or If Max Patches was already a King, mid 20's good cap hit, 30G scorer. Would you trade him for Justin Williams ?

I look at trades from the perspective of the opposing GM+ fan base. it tends to remove the homer glasses.

Of course I would love to give up LA's aging, or high cap hit, or garbage fourth liners for productive players.

Who wouldn't ?

I do believe williams plus for patches would be relatively close in value depending on the plus but clifford for malkin as a way for you to justify your opinion or that you need to follow rumors to see possibilities is just ridiculous. Its not hard to look at a rumor from the mayor that he heard williams is viewed as a person who could be moved, then connect a few teams or players to that rumor and SPECULATE on what COULD be possible.sheesh.

The Mayor is not a legit source of Kings trade rumors. That is my opinion, anyway.

Bob Mckenzie or similar people from TSN only seem to be the legit resources in the NHL for trades.

Everyone else is some blogger that makes hypothetical's that are 99% wrong.

Seeing as how the main board awhile back was speculating on a max p to the kings scenario and most of the mtl fans said start with williams then add, I guess I did take that into account also since earlier in the season your precious rumors had it that max p fell out of favor with the coach and was rumored to be available for the right price.C'MON man...its not that far fetched.especially not clifford for malkin far fetched.

I know the thread you are refrencing , MTL fans rejected Williams outright.

The discussion started to pickup steam when it was suggested Slava be the main competent on top of Williams.

So Slava+ Williams, which was a none stater with Kings fans.

good argument:help: That is why it would make sense for the kings or at least help to the fact. As I previously stated it would not happen because it makes no sense for Montreal. that does not mean it does not make sense for LA.

as for Giradi I am confused why he is even of interest as we need LHD.

Considering bob mckenzie and those tsn'ers took the gagner rumor from the mayor long after he broke it I guess I would consider him relatively legit especially since he ia more in tune with the kings then all others who just insert scoring lw here when it comes to kings rumors.

I know the Mayor takes credit for that, but I would give EDM home town beat writer credit for breaking that story.

Robert Tychkowski, he could have broke it after the Mayor.

But good on the Mayor he broke one legit story in the 20+ years I have been a Kings fan.

Regardless, maybe the Mayor does know the Kings are shopping Williams.

Wouldn't make sense to me, and I doubt Kings fans would be happy with the Return.

I could see on the cusp team adding a Vet like Williams, but they sure are not going to give up any roster player of significant value.

They would be looking to trade an on the cusp prospect + picks.

That doesn't help the Kings scoring woes, unless Lombardi has truly thrown in the towel on the season.

Cause then Lombardi would be adding cap space, and looking torward the Future. This is the only scenario that makes sense with trading Williams.

Also guys, NHL teams have years worth of video, and scout notes on pretty much everyone.

They don't need to see a showcase one week prior to the deadline.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard (Showcase someone).

All I am doing is trying to provide an interesting topic for discussion and or debate and I think I accomplished that.I agree on the showcasing comment I believe was referring to qho ever said pearson was being showcased.the ahl is showcasing same with scouting, qatching tape etc.as for williams I can see a package involving williams, martinez, clifford, picks netting a solid return you can split that into 2 seperate packages or use it for a "blockbuster".not saying it would ever happen or that either team would do it but that package could probably net a callahan or girardi package and I don't believe him being rhd qould affect pairing him with doughty at all.if ny can't extend hom by the deadline I strongly believe he is gone.if they can then think marc staal would be available as he cuts into girardis money and may sign with carolina when his contract is up after next season.again all opinion.I am cherry picking the rangers and those 2 players as they are rumored available.it can be any team any player I would love to see any and everyone's opinion on who those packages could return together or seperately. (Realistically)

I would be all in on Marty ST Lou as well. I am sure though that plenty of teams are going to offer nice packages for him.

Marty ST Lou would also have to waive his NMC, doubtful for the Kings.

He has played his entire career on the East coast pretty much. Doubt he would want to come out West.

He is a disaster, no idea why some Kings fans would welcome that Guy.

Just keep developing Muzzin, he is young and cheaper, and miles ahead of MacDonald Defense wise.

The rumors are MacDonald is seeking 5 Million a year....That's 2 million less a year than Drew Doughty folks.

Muzzin most likely, wont even make 2.5 million on his NEXT contract.
