I’m gonna guess he’s going to refuse to waive for anywhere but Tampa.
Not worth it. He can expand his list maybe. Or he can come back and look his teammates in the eyes at training camp. He doesn't get to be a free agent 2 years before he's a free agent.Thought Zach would be reasonable. Just take Moser/Knies and get him off the team

Trading him to a team that has no other teams to bid against isn't worth it. If he had such a small list why didn't he disclose it? Why not give Don the opportunity to lie to other teams and drive up the cost? Werenski isn't playing ball whatsoever so why should we?No.
Depressing an asset or getting nothing for it, or even worse, risking career injuries, is not worth it.
He doesnt have to.Trading him to a team that has no other teams to bid against isn't worth it. If he had such a small list why didn't he disclose it? Why not give Don the opportunity to lie to other teams and drive up the cost? Werenski isn't playing ball whatsoever so why should we?
Doesn't matter...if he won't sign, they won't pay upHis list expands to 22 next year.
What if we make a run? What if we get hot and win two rounds? What if his NMC goes away next summer? Now isn't the time unless Tampa or Toronto get crazy. We triedHe doesnt have to.
But what if he blows out his shoulder again. Or hurts a knee? Then what?

I would be very curious to see how player and coaches handled that situation. Not gonna lie, if I was one of his teammates, I'd feel very inclined to punch him in the face first day of training camp.Ok keep him. Keep them both.
Figure out a trade next summer. We've got two years of control, don't stress trying to find a deal now, especially if he's not waiving.
Yes it will be slightly awkward. So was 2018-19 when we knew Bob and Bread were leaving, and that ended up being a great run.
F*** you, Zach. Talk about showing your true colours.

Or drive to his house in the morning and ask him WTF face to faceF*** you, Zach. Talk about showing your true colours.

No one will pay up now either (again unless one of his 1.5 teams he's willing to go to loses their mind)Doesn't matter...if he won't sign, they won't pay up
Coyle?F*** you, Zach. Talk about showing your true colours.

Then he leaves in a yearWhat if we make a run? What if we get hot and win two rounds?
Where his value is much lessWhat if his NMC goes away next summer?
We did try. We cannot put this back in the box. You cannot continue with a guy on your roster once you've traded them. Now isn't the time unless Tampa or Toronto get crazy. We tried![]()
Trade him to someone who he will waive to.Full NMC, no list given. What can we do?
Having a list of 1 team you will waive nmc for doesn't pay eitherDoesn't matter...if he won't sign, they won't pay up
Then maximize what you can get and move on.Having a list of 1 team you will waive nmc for doesn't pay either
We absolutely did not go through this with Bob and Bread, what are you talking about? Ive disagreed with you alot lately but this one... oof. Bread was traded for and a was only here for 2 years, much more understandable. Bob gave us 7 years and was publicly questioned by his own GM. Werenski was drafted, developed, went through the Kivlenieks and Gaudreau tragedies and championed the whole "thank you for choosing Columbus when others wouldnt" and then quit but also handcuffed the team on the way out. This is not at all the same with the fans or the teamWe went through this with Bob and Bread and nobody got punched. Bob was erratic and it didn't really lead to any lasting problems. The team clicked when it needed to.
Moser, Geekie, O'Reilly and a couple other forward prospects. Strip mine them. The idea of a nice return to help turn the team around may be dead sadly then. Knies doesn't impress me, Tampa has nothing to give really besides Moser.
Even that is not even close to fair value for a Norris winnerMoser, Geekie, O'Reilly and a couple other forward prospects. Strip mine them.
Except it with those 2 they did it in the final year of their deals and they were really kept private-ish. We knew Bob had issues with Jarmo but he never strong-armed the team into doing his bidding. Plus they weren't championing the city and the franchise. Losing those 2 sucked, but this is getting spit in the face while getting kicked in the nuts.We went through this with Bob and Bread and nobody got punched.
