The only part of the knockoff that is noticeable is the :
Fightstrap
Adidas logo on back
NHL logo on front neck
Label and stitching on inside neckline
Other than that , the quality of the crest , numbers , nameplate , material itself is almost exact
Im trying to find a fan appreciation Jersey from last year.
it will be near impossible to get one. I think they were just made for the one promotion and were auctioned off , one per player .
I thiught maybe a company sold a replica but I have had zero luck finding one.
It’s the jersey that’s all black , with normal logo on front (but no circle around it and all white ) with a crest of the state of New Jersey shape on the shoulders . I love that jersey , looks very cool

I mean, if it keeps selling merch, it doesn't matter what company it is, they are going to keep doing it. Maybe CCM or Reebok will come back and introduce the straight retro, which for the Devils, would just be their pre-adidas jersey.
My idea for next season: New Jersey Angels jerseys based on the legendary April Fools prank from several years back.

I’m holding off on Hughes jerseys simply for the fact that he’s gonna get a “J.” on the back of his jersey in about 2 months and it will be immediately out of date.

Is it in any actual rulebook that they have to do that? The numbers, the height difference and the completely different position should be enough to tell the two apart. There's no reason to add a J or L to their jerseys.

Would also like to know the answer to this. Now I'm spooked lol

It looks like Tyler Johnson does not have a "T" on his jersey, and there are 3 Johnsons on the Blackhawks.

By and large players get the letter, especially if they're related (for whatever reason). Before the season Amanda had tweeted something wondering which of Jack or Luke would get the first initial on their jersey, essentially implying that one of them would add the first initial and one wouldn't which is even stranger.

When Jack and Quinn played together for the US in the world championships, they both chose to add their initials. Here's Jack's game worn:

I don’t have the rules but there are specific rules for jerseys and I would assume there can not be identical names on a jersey is a rule.

The league required teams to add the names to the back of jerseys some time in the 70s.

The Maple Leafs owner Ballard thought they would lose a lot of money on programs so he added the names to the back of the jersey in the same color as the uniform. The league then added a New Jersey rule to say the lettering must be in a contrasting color.

Just a story to show I believe the league has very specific rules for the jerseys and player names, even if I don’t know them.

That's a cool story and it's amazing how bad it looks and how wrong he was lol

I was browsing Google images and looks like in the finals the Niedermayer brothers didn't have initials, Rob is #44 in the bottom picture so it's probably safe to say it really is just up to what the team/players want...

For something more recent the Staal brothers in Florida don't have initials this season...

Even though in the past they have had initials and even a more unique situation with two J initials...

Honestly I'd be pretty stoked if the Hughes brothers omit their first initials when Luke gets to Newark.

Real ones go by jersey number first.

the real question is what # does Luke take? I imagine 43? He has worn 6 before too but obviously Marino has that

Gotta be 43.
