lol if there's one team he was never going to it was the Leafs, guy who wants to stay close to home isn't moving to a different country.

Yup Detroit didn't make his short list, We were told that he wanted to play close to home. Hence sorry Detroit you're going in the wrong direction for me is pretty much what he was telling them.

Honestly though, you guys probably aren't missing out on that much. These college UFA guys rarely live up to the hype

Very informed opinion! Have you heard of these things called "planes"? And did you know that his father is actually in Toronto?

Buffalo and Boston are out apparently. He's narrowed his list down to Toronto and Chicago.

What I am worried about is he will be guaranteed ice time that he may not deserve. I really think Sosh, Brown and maybe Hyman are currently better than Vesey.
I am honestly wondering what the big deal is with Vesey?

The big deal is that he's a free player basically. I think Sosh and Brown could be, but I'm not 100% sure about Hyman being better

It's hard to take a teacher seriously when they misspell their own name on the blackboard.

 just noticed that. I blame concussions

he's going to need to get all his international paperwork anyways

so which country he's in doesn't matter. Toronto is a very short flight away from Boston.

Do you have a twitter handle? I need to add more people

What would be funny if he sign's with a team completely out of the left field. I would like to see the look on all the experts

Just my opinion, I think he's going to Boston. Everything else is just smokes and mirror. He grew up dreaming about this team, he studies in the area and the team wants him. This couldn't be a better fit and timing

Vesey SR works and lives in the Boston area and because of his condition, limits the traveling he does.

If Detroit is too far away from Boston for him, so is Toronto (and Buffalo). Let it go, guys.

As for the claims made elsewhere in this thread that Soshnikov and Hyman are currently better than Vesey...

It occurs to me that Boston is pretty close to Boston, by the way. Interesting...

It'd be a short flight from Detroit too, but apparently that was too far from home. It'd be a short flight to anywhere in the US from anywhere else in the US.

The two best players in the world are Kane and Toews and play in Chicago. The Pittsburgh run this year was a benefit of weak teams advancing. I dont think theres ever been a team like Pitt with basically 2 players winning it all in the history of the game

Seems like a poke at the Pens .

1) Crosby has been playing like the best player in the world , again

2) Toews has been playing like a lower end 1st line C . ( Not sure if he was tired , or injured . Played a lot of hockey over the last 5 years )

3) Kane while he may products points he is not close to the best player . He has a weak 2 way game . I would take James Benn over him as he brings more to the table then Kane .

4) 2 player comment is a little over the top . Crosby , Letang , Malkin , Kessel and Murray who may be a little raw and not the sexy name but the kid played great .

Pens are a very good team . Just because they underachieved for a few years does not make them a 2 player team . Pens 3rd line played lights out as well .

I'm actually surprised you took his response at face value.

Saying they are too far is a lot easier than saying their team isn't going in the right direction and the city isn't an attraction. Both are arguably true but rude to say in response.

It's the "it's not you, it's me" type of rejection.

Except Chicago isn't too far.. The only things in this thread are Speculation, BS, and Detroit being out.

Either you are unfamiliar with Sosh and Brown or you think Vesey is better than he is. He is a 45 point player at best.

So basically a young, 2nd/3rd line player who produces like Chris Kreider with size, skill, and on an ELC for two years. Most teams would love that.

Or Pittsburgh- chance to win a cup while playing on a line with the best player in the world....not to mention a much lower cost of living than NY, Boston, Chi.

Because cost of living actually plays a part in an NHL player's decision making process
