I'm a fan of neither the bruins nor any of the teams that took the other prospects mentioned, I would absolutely take Barzal, Connor and Chabot. Barzal was a faller at that point because of an injured season who has righted the ship

I believe that I would be in the vast majority.....I'm sure everyone will let me know if they feel differently

I'm guessing at this hour the top Vesey news is he still hasn't made a decision but he's narrowed his options down to having a either a beer or a whiskey with his dinner.
 
Why is everyone requiring him to be an elite player? All he has to do do is play like:

1) someone on an ELC
2) someone drafted in the 3rd round
3) someone who will be overpaid bc the free agency pool is zero .... That is, any Joe shmoe in free agency who doesn't produce
 
I meant do we know if the teams tomorrow will be bringing certain players and if we know who they are yet.
 
ill be the minority (and yes i get that im in this thread since i dont care) but this is a little much dont you think? vesey is acting like he is a superstar already and that rubs people the wrong way imo. i get that he has the right to choose since its in the cba but the fact that he doesnt have it decided by now and is just meeting teams makes it seem like he wants all the attention and publicity.
 
Whatever team will give him the best chance to succeed over the next two years and pay him after will be his choice. Who cares if Toronto's future is better than New Jersey's unless it applies to the next two years.

I don't see what he's doing that's wrong. He was within his rights to exercise the option to become a free agent and he's going through a process of meeting with teams to see what's the right fit. He can't control how the media and fans react to all of this.

To me, there's a lot more that goes into it besides just the teams state and far they are away from Boston. Where does he slot in in the lineup? How do they treat their players? Is their practice facility nearby the arena? Where can you live? Does he have a significant other and where does she want to live?

And the only way to find that out is from teams pitching it to you which couldn't be done prior to today.

Part of it is that it's the middle of August and there's nothing else to concentrate on for the hockey media.

He was also only able to hear offers as of midnight last night, so it would be hard to make a decision without knowing what the offer or if there was an offer from each team is. I think there's an element of courtesy to hearing all offers too

I get that what he's doing is rubbing some people the wrong way, but could also see if the drama of it is unintentional
 
What cracks me up is that no matter which way it goes, there will be 7 or so away arenas that boo him every time he touches the puck.

I don't agree. He is a free agent. This will likely be the only time in his life where he is courted like this. How is he supposed to have decided already when he wasn't free to talk to and meet other teams until 12:01 AM?

If it drones on for another few weeks, than yeah I will agree. Taking a few days at this point isn't a big deal IMO.

I don't think he gives a rats ass about the publicity, why make a rash decision and jump into a team that could set you up to fail, like Schultz and Edmonton? Schultz went to a place that gave him everything he wanted, but it also backfired because he had too much responsibility.

If you had similar job offers from 10+ organizations, would you not take at least a few days to decide who you want to sign with?

imo he should have a few teams that he wants to meet with before he became a free agent. now it seems per different people he is meeting with almost 10-15 teams with new teams jumping in every minute. i agree with your point that he is being courted and he is allowed to do this.

guess im more mad at the media then anything since its nothing but vesey coverage.

What are you talking about? It's not Vesey's fault how the media is handling this. Vesey hasn't said anything to the media so how can he be fishing for attention? He met with four or five teams today, he will meet with a few more and likely decide by the weekend. He's obviously trying to get this done with as quickly as possible or he wouldn't have met with so many teams today. It's not his fault he couldn't do anything until the 16th.
 
This sniveling brat better decide tomorrow morning. I have laundry to do and it can't wait to see where a middle-six winger that will struggle like most rookies will play.
