Anyone willing to pay actual money to sit anywhere and watch this shit is pretty hardcore, in my book, but I draw the line at some of this shit.
Still not going to make me feel better about playing at the dink rink, beyond the original timeframe.
The people who never attend games have no complaints about Mullett. Cheap me has now joined that group.

As a fan the bigger focus should be on the development of the team itself. They could play in a stockyard for all I care as long as they make progress on the roster end.

You’ve been talking about both, Junior.
The initial shit you incorrectly think I was referring to, is the current run of losses. The second shit mentioned was referring to soap boxes and buckets. I do hope this helps quiet you, as I am truly tired of and have no use for yellow.

I don't think ANYONE will actually give a damn about going to Mullett another 3 years when a new rink is being built in one of the most PRIMO locations in the entire Valley.

Please god, get this done! I lived across the freeway from this location and had literal dreams of that location for the team.
I too had a dream about the Coyotes playing in my backyard! Dreams can get crushed...

The Coyote's are the only entity shown for that property. What does the Board of Appeals do?
Good question.
I assume this is an opportunity for public or stakeholders to voice concerns with the application. I don't actually know what this meeting is for or what the board does.

Hopefully they've greased whatever wheels they need to so they don't lose this bid. You'd think at this point they'd do whatever it takes in the background to make sure their bid wins.

This board of appeals meeting tomorrow is separate from the auction. That later step will follow in May I believe. I guess this meeting is a hurdle that needs to be cleared before the auction can happen, when the bidding begins.

I doubt that will be an issue, they had as good a relationship as you could possibly have with the government folks in Tempe. That part went flawlessly.

It falls under: B . Commercial Leases-Long Term-for periods longer than 10 years
I think it will be discussion, we'll soon know about what all.

This meeting just authorizes the auction and sets the date.

If that gets approved you’ll see all the details get posted afterwards. Probably several PDFs will be involved.

That doesn't make sense. The Coyote's, and only the Coyote's, had a number of different applications for said site.

It's not a lease.

Petey made a great comment on the PHNX pod. Fellow NHL owners may not like the idea of the Coyotes playing at Mullet a total of 5 or even 6 years….but if AM wins the land bid there’s no way owners can force him to do anything.

I don't know franchise have weird rules. All depends on wording of the terms and agreements.

And the only thing worse than a team tanking for 6 years in a college barn as second tenant is a team that succeeded after doing that. It would set a horrible precedent. The NHL will try to prevent that from happening.

There's already a cap floor, top picks in the draft are determined via lottery instead of standings, and no team is allowed to win the lottery more than twice in 5 years. I'm not sure what else could they do that wouldn't completely interfere with a struggling team's ability to improve through the draft.

There are other teams doing exactly what we are right now you know... Chicago, San Jose, and Anaheim for examples. BA didn't invent tanking, he's learned from other tank commanders of the past.

Anyways, consider this - should being a seller at the trade deadline be considered tanking too? Because the sellers have obviously given up on the remainder of the season and aren't trying as hard as they can to win anymore. Hoping to get the best draft pick possible. Does tanking come in different shapes and sizes?

Just going by the agenda on their website.

Edit: my bad Jakey, took another look and I copied and pasted the wrong heading… sort of. It’s denoted with “C” on the agenda, further up it shows what I originally copied, further down “C” reads “Land Sales - Real Estate Division”

That’s why I liked Doan’s proposal, with the intent being rewarding effort over shameless tanking. As a note, I don’t see us as shameless. My original home team (Chicago) is the most recent example of shameless tanking, imo and I hate them for it.
