That's cool if it's because they are friends, but this is legit the companies biggest show ever.

As the Booker you got to know when to tell talent no.

If there was a really good story and build then maybe because the story could make up for the match not being all that good. But that isn't going to happen here.

So if you don't have a great story/build you at least got to pair two guys up that will deliver a 5 star match in ring at least. Jericho isn't capable of that anymore.

I don't think Tony ever tells Jericho no, if he wants the match, he's getting it

Sounds like the prevailing thought is the Elite will be signing back with AEW. As of a couple months ago WWE thought they had a shot to bring over Omega and that has gone cold. Also sounds like AEW outbid WWE on Rush.

Really hope that's the case. AEW has great roster depth, but that group of 4 (regardless of how you feel about them) is literally what the company is named after. Arguably the best singles wrestler in the world, one of the best tag teams in the world, the best pure babyface in their company, and together they have brought out some of the most emotional stories. They should be offered blank checks.

let Ospreay have his match. he doesn't have to break his body all the time. plenty other people on the (eventual) card that'll do the career shortening shit

Taya apparently faced a ton of abuse on social media after that match last night.

People calling her fat and saying she looks like a man.

Wrestling fans can be the worst, and tend to be the absolute worst when it involves women.
The community as a whole is filled with some of the most vile, disgusting, ridiculous shit heads.

The show is sold out, so they don’t need to do all the best stuff. Jericho sold the North American market on Japan. No reason why he can’t in the UK for their biggest non-WWE star.

I mean I also don’t think Jericho is so washed that he can’t have a great match with Ospreay. It just isn’t going to be some all time work rate match and Jericho can do the job so Will gets the big hometown pop.

I'm worried that Jericho's pace will in turn slow down Will's pace which then turns the match very meh. I don't know, I don't think Jericho is a good match up, thats all.

I personally was hoping it would be Hangman-Ospreay. Jericho probably wasn’t even a thought lol but I can see them having a solid match just because of how great Will is.

It’s not even that, Jericho is past the thought of having a good match, imo of course.
oh, i agree. ideally he'd do an icon v icon match with Sting - wouldn't have to do much and the people would pop. everyone gets to go home happy they saw two legends in the ring even if they're in the twilight of their careers.

but if Ospreay is just looking to have a fun silly match with Jericho... it should work. he can't wrestle, but he can still be entertaining

Yeah, how dare they let Ospreay wrestle his idol in front of a sold out Wembley Stadium lol. I'm curious how many of you saying Jericho can't put on a good match(he can) also complain about matches with a high workrate, lack of selling and dangerous spots.

That's more or less where I am at if the match comes to fruition. I understand the potential disappointment from those attending who were hoping for a better on-paper match because there could have been many other names than Jericho that on-paper could produce a better match or at least make you think they could produce a better match. If Ospreay is great he can elevate his opponents and Jericho is a veteran who should know what will and will not work to make each other look good. One of the most important things for people who purchased tickets was Ospreay being part of the event so as long as he performs then the rest is gravy. It may be more meaningful to him in 40 years to reflect on the match he had in front of 65k+ fans against someone he grew up watching or respects or whatever you guys said the connection was between the two that it would be to say he wrestled X and had a six or seven start match, like his many other great matches, but in many ways the match meant nothing to him other than maybe the location/crowd but still wasn't as meaningful as the time shared with an opponent like Jericho.

Jericho's ROH title reign showed he could still put on a great match.

And in my opinion, Will Ospreay is the best wrestler in the world, if not, then he's one of the best. I'm sure it'd be fantastic and if we get Kenny/Takeshita out of it, I'll have no complaints.

Plus, I'm guessing we're still gonna get Omega/Ospreay 3 regardless, just not at All In. Kenny/Ospreay, Sanada/G1 winner and possibly Okada/Danielson seems like a fantastic Wrestle Kingdom card if they go that direction.

I agree it's too soon for Omega/Will III, just think you want someone who can better keep the pace with Ospreay.

I think its sticking out because we don't really know what the rest of the card is.

Either way, I'm sure the rest of the card will be awesome. What the main event? MJF v Cole? MJF v Punk?

I'm holding out hope for MJF/Cole but in a friendly/respectful, but still a little tense way rather than because of a heated betrayal way. MJF revealing to Cole that he's willing to give him another shot at the title last Wednesday gives me hope that's the direction they're going. This team is too damn good to break up so soon in my opinion and I think we can get Cole/MJF vs. Kyle/Roddy out of it in the future if Kyle gets healthy soon.

I also am hoping we get Punk/White on the card although they seem to be straying away from that. They were teasing it, but they haven't interracted in a tad.

I'm just speculating of course. Usually I'm completely wrong too.
