This is a solid take. I think it could work as well. I just love heel MJF so much.


I trust he can make whatever he wants work. He’s that f***ing good. I think he’s in a league of his own right now.

The idea some people seem to have that a face can't do things that take advantage of rules or even cheat at times to me is so antiquated, especially if they're against a strong heel, unless they play a certain type of character that shouldn't be, or certain parameters of a story. Younger people, many of then my age, they don't want to see the good guys look like or played for fools time and time again just because they'd rather lose clean than win dirty.

Bullshit, he gave the match they just had MORE than 5 stars. And Dave pointed out in that interview something that seems to have gone unnoticed by obnoxious clout chasers online: His favorite style has always been lucha yet he has NEVER awarded a CMLL match 5 stars.

Vilet had him in a blender. And honestly when Dave says it's just his opinion and it doesn't matter, that's actually fine since it's all subjective and his method isn't consistent.

It becomes an issue when you got people claiming that Omega is without question better then Kurt Angle solely based on star ratings, and Dave comes out and agrees that's a solid way to judge wrestlers.

Or some people claiming AEW is the greatest promotion ever because it has so many Dave rated 5 star matches.

I'm old enough to remember when the anti Meltzer loons would attack him for overrating Angle. It actually lead to my favorite F4W Flying Mare article of all time: "Fan Scientifically Proves Angle vs HBK Was a Bad Match".

I've heard rave reviews about ROH as a whole and their PPVs starting from FTR/Briscoes to now seem to not miss from what I hear.

I just have to selectively choose what I watch and pay for when it comes to wrestling so I don't get burnt out. I already watch Dynamite/Collision, pay for their $50 PPVs, watch WWE PPVs, and have gotten into NJPW a lot.

I got Honors Club about 1 month ago and have already watched all of the ROH 2023 content. It’s definitely worth it. My only gripe is that I wish they’d give their wrestlers a bit more mic time. They’ve got some people on that roster that are amazing.

They should have made that House of Black and Acclaimed match as the closer. The drama of teasing Daddy Ass’s retirement as the finale of the show would have been even better.
