I think its just Dave's bias towards the Elite in all of this is having people who never had a problem with him getting annoyed.
Correct- hell I even still listen to him because he does provide useful insight and like I mentioned he’s probably wrestling’s premier historian. But the one-sidedness of his reporting has absolutely rubbed me the wrong way on him

He also can come off as dismissive and condescending but I honestly believe that’s just him being on the spectrum so I don’t really hold him at fault for that

I don't see Hangman is a main event caliber guy. Never have.

There's just something about him that screams "upper mid card" but never a guy I want at the top.

Maybe it's his finishing move being something traditionally reserved for people much bigger than him that makes him unbelievable to me.
He reminds me of a crappier version of Dolph Ziggler.

People told me Adam Page was a draw months back. Giving him the credit for the PPV buys when the CM Punk-MJF dog collar match and Moxley-Danielson was on the card lmao

He’s very talented but he certainly is not a draw. Maybe if booked correctly he would be. But as of right now he couldn’t draw a dollar if you gave him a green crayon. I think he’d be an intercontinental champion in WWE but probably no higher than that. You just know they’re dying to get a former AEW champion to bury on the undercard.

He’s a very good worker which validates Punk wondering if he chopped him in the mouth on purpose. It’s not like Page is green. Seemed pretty intentional to me, don’t know how you miss like that when you blindly and effortlessly execute top rope moonsaults to the floor.

Side note I was reading the comments and wrestling twitter is the dumbest group of people I’ve ever seen in my life. Somebody accusing CM Punk of getting hardcore Holly fired for smoking weed lmao….bob shouldn’t have taken Ken Anderson’s pills!

Also not to say I dislike Dynamite- I really enjoyed last weeks show- but Collision has more of a “wrasslin” feel to it. I think a show like that is missing in todays wrestling landscape. NWA Power was probably the closest thing to that vibe before Saturday and they’ve had Trevor Murdoch and the Funkasaurus as their last couple of champs.

I think dynamite and collision feeling so different is going to be a great thing for TK/AEW. It will be harder for people to get tired of all the content.

I think both easily could if booked properly.
Dolph could never get the crowd to stick with him. He'd have numerous pushes where the crowd either loved him as a face or hated him as a heel for a short time then went flat, and it would happen every single time.

No doubt some of that is on booking but he's just not a guy capable of transcending poor booking which most main event caliber guys are. Ditto Hangman Page.

I mean, Roman Reigns could not overcome bad booking and it took Heyman and a change of character to make it work.

Cody Rhodes could not overcome Stardust. In AEW, with meh booking, he lost a lot of steam and ended up being very hated. With better booking in WWE, he is the most popular babyface they have and definitely is now a main eventer.

The only guy who totally overcame bad booking was Bryan Danielson in 2014... and even he lost steam at times after that.

Difference both of those guys were still getting reactions, good or bad.

Dolph just got mostly silence. You can't have that. Fans always became apathetic towards his pushes.

The Bucks would be players in WWE, but there's no way WWE would let them be above the Usos or New Day

I mean at the end of the day as well what Hangman would be in WWE doesn't mean a damn thing to AEW. He is AEW's top babyface and despite a period of iffy booking has consistently remained their most over babyface over years. He is a main event level guy here. Who knows what he would be in WWE....hopefully we won't find out lol

Stardust wasn't getting reactions at all and Roman was getting go away heat. I think fans became apathetic towards Ziggler because of bad booking.

It's a mix of things. Dolph was crazy over when he had his MITB cash in, but they never did anything else with him afterward.

But he also never adapted or adjusted his gimmick. He became super stale

He's been possibly the most consistently over main event level or near main event level face in professional wrestling, period, since 2020.

I was at the 2015 Rumble and Dolph was probably the most over person other than Bryan/Danielson. But I don't remember if that was before or after his MITB cash in or not.
2015 would’ve been way after because that was at the start of the New Day.
